I have always wanted to be an author. Today I am not just writing my 1st book, but I'm also attempting to be the illustrator. If I can do this at almost 42 years old, you can start working on your dream, too.

Happy Friday Eve Friends!

Morning Motivation...

Today is a good day to be encouraged.

Lately I've been working on my mental health. Through positivity, self reflection and learning to smile/laugh more, I find myself feeling more empowered and genuinely happy. I'm watching the shows 'Limitless with Chris Hemsworth' and 'Stutz' with Jonah Hill, listening to empowering songs like Flowers by Miley Cirus and Never Gonna Not Dance by Pink, and giving myself the the chance to believe in myself as a mom, wife and woman.

This year I told myself it was going to be a year about me. As a child, I was always told I was able to brighten a room any time I walked in. My smile could bring joy to those around me, and I was a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day. Over the years I've become jaded and depressed, sprinkled with anxiety and poor life choices. As a 41 year old with multiple health problems, my mindset had been altered to dwell on the negative instead of the positive. But today I believe that I need to be in the right head space in order to be that ray of light again, to stop being a shell of who I used to be. My joy seemed to decline dramatically due to my Post-partum Depression and possible Post-partum Psycosis. But today? ... Today I feel beautiful and loved and proud of who I'm becoming. I'm gaining the self worth I deserve. All because of my new mindset.

So today I encourage you all to be encouraged by my belief in you all. If I can go from severe lows to feeling incredibly proud of myself, I believe you can as well.

Remember this is a process. I'm still going to have days where I struggle. I'm still going to have those moments of self doubt and self deprecation. However, knowing how to pace yourself from a mental standpoint can be all thar you need in order to be the best version of you. I believe you (and I) can become the person we want to be. Find that music that bring a smile to your face. Read or watch things that inspire you.

Morning Motivation...

Today is a good day to change your mindset.

In life we deal with a lot of setbacks. Whether it comes from losing a job or dealing with chronic pain or watching your children suffer from bullying. But today I encourage you to push through those life events and remind yourself of the strength you have within.

For me, I thrive more than I ever imagined I could. I'm learning to embrace the here and now by giving myself daily affirmations, spending more time with my family (and not my phone), and trying to laugh more than I have in a long time. By continuously reminding myself to be a better version of myself than I was the day before, I find life much easier to deal with the setbacks.

So today, I encourage you to embrace the good, the bad, the ugly, and change your mindset to that of which you had the day before.

Morning Motivation

Today is a good day to be alive.

I have oodles of health problems. But I'm still here. Sometimes it physically hurts to simple be. The pain takes over my life. It's hard to play with my kids or be intimate with my husband. It's hard to do daily chores. It's hard to be in the present when all I think of is the pain I'll be in in the future. But I'm here. I'm happy. I'm loved by many. So today... today is a great day to be alive. It's a good day to keep pushing forward.

Morning Motivation

Today is a good day to believe 'I Can'.

What I mean is, it's a good day to start anew. Start buying house plants, or restart your motivation, or just enjoy life like it's a new day full of promise and joy.

7 days ago I threw my back out. I tried to push through the pain, but after 24 hours I was sobbing from the pain. I felt the shockwave of radiating pain, unable to put any pressure on my legs or even move around to go to the bathroom. I eventually went to the ED and was given some relief - the morphine barely touched me. After lots of rest I finally felt better yesterday and even a bit better today. So I'm starting my day with a refreshing attitude. I can get through this pain, I can keep moving around, I can do anything (so long as I don't throw my back out again). But today... I can. Today... I will.

Me? I am doing ok. I got a lot of my goals accomplished and am still looking ahead.

Mid Week Mottivation Morning Motto...

Today is a new day to think about being proud.

I woke up this morning thinking about how proud I am of 3 friends of mine. Each one of them are at different times in their lives. Each one battling their own personal demons. And each one willing to be there for me in my time of need, and more importantly my child's time of need. I love them all differently and equally at the same time. I woke up this morning and my heart was overflowing with pride. I'm proud of these women for who they've become, and excited to share in their life journey with them.

But at the same time, I realized how proud I am of myself for making the right changes in my life. I never knew just how many friends i would lose before i was gifted with such an incredible support system. I'm proud I allowed myself the *right* to true and genuine friends. Friends that despite their own pain and personal strife will drop what they're doing to listen and support me.

So be proud of the friends you have and be proud of yourself. Good friends are really hard to find, but when you find the right ones, they will call you out on your bull, but hide the body when you need a hand.

Today My Motivatiin Morning Motto is...

Today is a new day to be grateful for the little things.

As I was scrolling through my news feed I realized a lot of my friends have posted something positive. My friend's child who has had heart complications since birth is doing really well. Another friend posted their kiddo is so smart they're getting into one of the top Jr. High schools in the state. has improved even more.

Even more than that, the little accomplishments we make as a whole can really bring us joy. For example, I am really proud that I am working on deep cleaning my kitchen, but that I'm not overdoing it to the point my body feels broken. I have even gotten my kids to help do chores - something I haven't really pushed on them (though they are definitely pushing back).

So I'm excited for my friend that her child is healing well. I'm proud of my friend's kiddo. I'm relieved Damar Hamlin is improving. I'm glad I started to ask my littles to start doing chores around the house. I'm proud of me for having kept up with the work I want to do at a pace that works for me and my Fibromyalgia.

So today? Today is a new day to be grateful for the little things.

Do you wake up with a positive thought? I mean, even before you get out of bed to use the bathroom - you know, because we're getting older and we have weak bladders now. I do. I have been every morning before I get out of bed since January 1st. I've started doing some simple stretches in bed right after I wake up, and as I do them, I start thinking of a daily motto. Something to get me out of bed and motivated to get the day going.

Today my Morning Motivation Motto is...

Today is a good day to clean my kitchen. Especially since I have helpers (lol). But for real though. Doesn't it always feel so good to have a deep cleaned kitchen? I love a super clean kitchen. Since ours is so small it gets cluttered and dirty very quickly. I'm excited to get this kitchen knocked out.

What motivates you when you aren't feeling motivated?

This week I found myself unmotivated to start my Morning Routine - wake up, do stretches, do PT exercises, make coffee, do a load of dishes. Obviously I woke up 😉 but getting motivated to do any of the other things was feeling a bit challenging. I knew I needed my coffee. I'm a zombie without it. So I started my coffee and made the choice to just do the dishes. After that everything else just fell into place.

So even if you don't feel motivated to do squat on your list, try doing just one. See where it takes you. You've got this!
