Women today are constantly being flooded with advice about hormones, supplements, inflammation, gut health, metabolic health, and longevity.

But what actually improves health outcomes at midlife?

For women interested in a more evidence-based approach to midlife health and aging well, an upcoming HERtalks virtual discussion featuring Dawn Mussallem, DO, DipABLM, will explore the role lifestyle medicine can play in long-term health, energy, resilience, prevention, and well-being.

Cincinnati summers mean more time outside—often in the heat, sun, and water.

More time out means more opportunities for things to be overlooked.

Swipe for ways to stay prepared this season, and share with someone you’ll be spending time outside with.

Most lab results are interpreted as either “normal” or “abnormal.”

But many health changes happen before a result ever falls outside the standard range. Cholesterol can rise year after year and still be considered “normal.” Thyroid markers can shift while fatigue, hair changes, or brain fog continue to worsen.

That’s why trends matter. Looking at labs over time, alongside symptoms and history, often reveals more than a single test result alone.

At Concierge Medicine of Cincinnati, our approach is designed to catch changes earlier, before “normal” becomes a problem.

We’re wishing everyone a peaceful holiday weekend with family and loved ones!

Thank you to those who have served and sacrificed for our country, and to the families who carry that sacrifice with them. 💙

When people think about the “long-term” effects of alcohol, they’re often thinking about the next day, not the next decade.

Over time, alcohol can affect liver health, cardiovascular function, and memory in ways that become more significant with age.

Because many of those effects develop gradually, they’re easy to dismiss until they begin affecting how you feel day to day.

Understanding long-term patterns is a large part of how we approach preventive care at Concierge Medicine of Cincinnati.

Last Friday at the Power to Pursue Summit, Suzanne Kahle joined the Women’s Health panel to discuss a reality many women know all too well: fragmented care.

As women navigate different stages of life and health, it’s common to find themselves moving between multiple providers and specialties, with each appointment focused on one specific concern. Over time, healthcare can begin to feel disconnected rather than coordinated.

Women deserve care that considers the full picture — not just individual symptoms, isolated diagnoses, or one body system at a time.

That belief shapes the way we approach primary care at Concierge Medicine of Cincinnati: through deeper relationships, continuity over time, and a more connected understanding of health and wellness.

Many women are told at some point that what they’re experiencing is “normal.”

Fatigue in your 30s. Changes in sleep or mood in your 40s. Symptoms in your 50s that don’t feel like you.

The challenge is that most women are never given a clear understanding of what to expect at each stage, or how to interpret what they’re feeling.

Ms.Medicine breaks this down in their Women’s Health by Decade guide, so you can better understand what’s expected, what’s not, and how your health evolves over time.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve had the chance to gather with so many wonderful people for evenings centered around conversation, creativity, and health.

From cooking classes focused on supporting strong bones to an evening of painting, mocktails, and conversations around hormones and midlife wellness, these events created space for thoughtful discussions outside of a typical office visit.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, asked questions, shared conversations, and spent these evenings with us.
