How often are your athletes actually present during their performance… instead of thinking about the last play or the next one?

This week, challenge your athlete to reset:
• One deep breath between reps
• One cue word to stay locked in
• One moment at a time

A simple reminder your athlete may need to hear:

They are more than their sport.

The pressure to perform can be heavy—sometimes heavier than we realize. A quick check-in, a conversation, or even sharing this post can go a long way.

Let them know they’re valued for who they are—not just how they perform.

📩 Share this with an athlete or take a moment to check in today.

Parents and coaches — your words after a competition matter more than you may realize. Helping athletes focus on effort, growth, and learning can build confidence that lasts far beyond the game.

Consider sharing these affirmations with your athlete after competition.

A supportive conversation after competition can help athletes reset, reflect, and continue developing both mentally and physically.

When was the last time your athlete heard, “I’m proud of you — no matter what”?

As a parent or coach, your words carry weight.
✔️ Remind them they are more than their stats
✔️ Praise effort, growth, and character
✔️ Separate who they are from how they performed

And don’t forget — you are enough too.
You won’t get every conversation perfect.
You won’t always say the exact right thing.
But showing up, caring, and learning alongside them matters more than perfection ever will.

One of the best things you can do for your athlete is remind them to care for their mind, not just their body.

Pressure moments don’t just test skills—they test mindset and character. Encourage your athletes to pause, reflect, and choose their response in the heat of the moment.

🧠 Mindful tip for athletes:

Help them notice how they react under stress and guide them to take intentional actions—whether it’s a tough drill, a critical play, or handling feedback from a coach.

Small, thoughtful responses in high-pressure moments build resilience, focus, and confidence that lasts both on and off the field.

Athletes don’t need to “fix” their emotions to perform well — they need to understand them.

When we help athletes name what they’re feeling, we:
✔️ Reduce emotional overload
✔️ Build confidence and self-awareness
✔️ Improve focus under pressure

The goal isn’t calm — it’s control.

Small moments of mindfulness can create big performance shifts.

As athletes set New Year’s goals, coaches and parents play a powerful role in shaping the mindset behind them. 🧠
A healthier mindset isn’t built through pressure or perfection—it’s built through language and consistency.

This year, consider resolving to:
• Praise effort and growth, not just outcomes
• Normalize mistakes as part of development
• Model calm, confidence, and self-awareness

When we support the mind, we support long-term performance and well-being.

What’s one way you’ll support your athlete’s mindset this season?
