This is what safe sleep looks like.

Even when you think your baby would be more comfortable sleeping on their stomach. Comfortable does not equal safe.

Give your baby tummy time to develop strong shoulder and neck muscles when you are both awake and you are watching them.

Share the room, not the bed. Your baby’s life is worth it.

Safe sleep means your baby is sleeping on their back on a flat, firm surface: a crib, bassinet or pack ’n play with a tight-fitting sheet. Nothing else is in the sleep space with your baby — no bumpers, blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, toys, other children or adults.

Remember the ABCs of safe sleep: Alone, on their Back, in a Crib.

Safe sleep means your baby is sleeping in the safest place you can provide. Near you but not with you.

Meghan co-leads Partnering for Change, an initiative of Governor DeWine, the Ohio Department of Children and Youth and Cradle Cincinnati that's focused on reducing infant mortality and improving long-term outcomes for Ohio's moms and babies.

"With a background in public policy and advocacy, I’ve been fortunate to spend time listening to community members share their stories, concerns and ideas — and to work alongside them to develop meaningful solutions.

I'm excited to bring this same understanding into the women’s healthcare space to help transform systems so that they're more accessible, equitable and uplifting of women's experiences."
