🎓✨ WANDA WAY HOMES CELEBRATES OUR FIRST OFFICIAL GRADUATE: ALEXIS LUSTER ✨🎓

This Friday, we are proud to celebrate a historic moment for Wanda Way Homes as we honor our first official graduate, Alexis Luster!

Alexis entered our program committed to changing her life—and through hard work, accountability, healing, and determination, she has done exactly that.

After overcoming addiction, incarceration, and many personal obstacles, Alexis has successfully completed the Wanda Way Homes program and fully transitioned back into society with purpose.

Today, Alexis is:

💗 A full-time mother to her children

💗 Working in recovery as a Peer Support Specialist

💗 Pursuing her dream of becoming a Makeup Artist

💗 Living proof that healing and restoration are possible

Alexis’s journey is a powerful testimony that your past does not define your future. Her resilience, strength, and transformation inspire not only our staff but everyone around her.

At Wanda Way Homes, our mission is to provide more than housing—we provide Healing. Housing. Hope. And Alexis represents exactly what our mission stands for.

We are honored to celebrate her this Friday with a graduation ceremony on campus alongside cupcakes, gifts, her cap and gown, and recognition from the City of Cincinnati Advisory Committee during their visit.

Please join us in congratulating Alexis Luster on this incredible accomplishment and major life milestone! 👏💕

We are so proud of you, Alexis. Your Wanda Way Homes family celebrates you today and always.

✨ Client Spotlight: JP’s Transformation Journey ✨

At Wanda Way Homes, we are honored to walk alongside individuals as they rebuild their lives—and today, we are proud to highlight JP’s journey.

With his full consent, JP is sharing his story as a testament to what support, structure, and self-belief can create.

JP came to Wanda Way Homes while navigating recovery from alcoholism and experiencing homelessness—both of which had taken a significant toll on his mental health and self-esteem. When we first met JP, he struggled with confidence and connection.

Over the past several weeks, our team has worked closely with him to rebuild from the inside out—focusing on confidence, self-worth, and emotional stability.

This week marked a powerful milestone.

Through a partnership with a local salon, JP received a full grooming and self-care experience to support his transition into employment opportunities. The results were more than physical—they reflected a renewed sense of confidence and self-belief.

Despite facing challenges with anxiety and depression just the day before, JP showed resilience and commitment by following through and showing up for himself.

Today, he is stepping forward with a new mindset, a stronger presence, and readiness for upcoming job opportunities.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the community members who donated clothing. JP’s outfit—including boots, jeans, and a hoodie—was made possible through these contributions. These items provide more than clothing; they restore dignity and confidence.

📢 We are currently accepting donations of men’s and women’s clothing.

If you would like to contribute, please send us a message.

JP’s journey is a reminder that transformation is possible with the right support, environment, and belief in oneself.

We are proud of you, JP, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you.

✨ MILESTONE MOMENT: LIFE TRANSFORMED IN 90 DAYS ✨

Join us in celebrating one of our own — Lucian 👏🏾

Lucian came to Wanda Way Homes in January after spending years in and out of incarceration since 2020. Like many, he was searching for a fresh start… and he made the decision to do the work.

And today — his life looks completely different.

✔️ Secured a full-time job with AWP as a Flagger

✔️ Earned his driver’s license for the FIRST time ever

✔️ Maintains stable housing at Wanda Way Homes

✔️ Shows up consistently — never missing a day of IOP treatment

✔️ Committed to his recovery and reentry journey

This didn’t happen by accident — this happened through discipline, support, and accountability.

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our partners at the CEO (Center for Employment Opportunities) 🙌🏾

Your workforce programs continue to open doors and create real opportunities for individuals returning home and ready to rebuild.

Lucian — we see you. We celebrate you. We are PROUD of you.

Your story is proof that:
💯 A second chance can turn into a new life
💯 Structure + opportunity = transformation
💯 It’s never too late to start over

This is what Wanda Way Homes is all about:
Healing. Housing. Hope.

Wanda Way Homes Recovery Housing Program would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to YWCA and the Rising Star Program for their continued support and generosity.

Through this partnership, leftover catered meals from Rising Star sessions are shared with Wanda Way Homes, allowing residents to enjoy nourishing, healthy food options. Recently, clients expressed how much they appreciated meals like fresh salad, fruit, and bagels — small acts that make a big impact on their recovery journey.

We also want to recognize one of the Rising Star cohort members for her thoughtful donation of comforters to support our residents. These contributions provide both comfort and dignity to those we serve.

Wanda Way Homes is always accepting donations to support our recovery community. Current needs include plates, pots and pans, comforters, towels, hygiene products, food, paper towels, toilet paper, and bottled water. Volunteer support is also welcomed.

We are deeply grateful to YWCA for not only investing in leadership through the Rising Star Program, but for extending that care to our residents. Partnerships like this help us continue our mission of providing Healing. Housing. Hope.

I’m super excited and proud of our clients at Wanda Way Homes 🏡 ! 💕

Over the past couple of weeks, one of their responsibilities was to come together and organize our storage closet — and they did an amazing job. This space is now being transformed into our official Wanda Way Homes Donation Closet to support the 35 clients we serve on our Clifton campus.

They cleaned it out, mopped it, and got everything together — and I’m just really proud of the teamwork and ownership they showed. This is what growth and community looks like. 🙌🏾

We will soon be launching a donation form for those who have been asking how to support. We will be accepting items such as:
• Comforters & sheets
• Towels & pillows
• Plates & household items
• Clothes & shoes

For (Housing Director Renika’s mother) Wanda Easterling’s friends, family, and supporters who have also asked about volunteering for the Wanda Way Homes 🏡Campus in her memory— we’re still building that out, but stay tuned! More ways to get involved are coming soon.

Thank you all for your continued love and support. This is just the beginning 💖

✨ Client Spotlight: Megan Howard ✨

At Wanda Way Homes 🏡, we believe in highlighting the growth, resilience, and purpose of the individuals we serve — and today, we are proud to celebrate Megan Howard. 💗

Megan has officially completed her 40-hour Peer Support training and is now preparing for her certification exam next week. This is a major milestone in her recovery and professional journey.

Megan is known for her energy, her voice, and her passion for recovery. From day one, we saw her potential — not just to maintain her sobriety, but to lead, inspire, and support others walking a similar path.

Like many in recovery, Megan faced challenges with focus and consistency. However, through accountability, structure, and her own commitment to growth, she pushed through — and that’s where real transformation happens.

One of Megan’s greatest strengths is her voice. Her willingness to speak up, share her story, and engage with others is not a limitation — it’s leadership in the making. We see her future not just as a participant in recovery, but as a leader within it.

At Wanda Way Homes, we don’t just provide housing — we create pathways.
We invested in Megan’s Peer Support training because we believe our clients deserve opportunities to build careers, purpose, and long-term stability.

And this is just the beginning.

Next up, Megan will be pursuing her CDCA credential as she continues to grow in the behavioral health and recovery field.

💬 Sometimes people don’t need a handout — they need support, structure, and a push.

We are proud of you, Megan. Keep going. 👏🏾

📌 Stay tuned as we continue to highlight more of our residents and their recovery journeys. (All stories are shared with client consent.)

Happy New Year from Wanda Way Homes ✨

Today was a powerful milestone for Wanda Way Homes. We officially picked up our first 11-passenger van—our first company car—and we couldn’t be more grateful.

This moment is especially meaningful because Wanda Way Homes exists in loving memory of my mom, Wanda, who was a housing case manager dedicated to serving individuals impacted by addiction, mental health challenges, poverty, and veterans. Her life’s work is the foundation of everything we do.

With support from the City of Cincinnati, including a $100,000 grant for the Wanda Way Initiative, we’ve been able to remove one of the biggest barriers our residents face: transportation. Over the past several weeks, the need has been clear—and today, God answered.

Reliable transportation means access to work, treatment, appointments, and stability. This van is more than a vehicle—it’s a step forward in dignity, independence, and recovery.

Thank you to the Ford dealership for the excellent service. We’re excited to soon unveil the Wanda Way Homes van wrap honoring Wanda’s legacy.

To anyone building something bigger than themselves: keep going. Trust God with the wheel, and He will lead you where you’re meant to be.
