Who Was Your Most Challenging Ancestor to Research?

This will be an interactive workshop with everyone being invited to speak and offer suggestions on records to use or places to look.

A short 5 to 10-minute talk should include:
Information about the chosen Ancestor.
Why they were the most challenging to research.
What lengths you had to go to.
If the search was successful, how you succeeded in breaking down your “brick wall”.
And, if you haven't fully succeeded, present it to the workshop group as a case in progress so we can suggest ways for you to move forward with your research.

SHARING A FAMILY TREASURE

Do you have your grandmother’s special bowl? Your mother’s special dish? Great grandpas tool box? A postcard from your Great Uncle when he was away at war?
Well bring one to our August Workshop and share the object and the story with all of us! Tell us a little bit about why your treasured item is special to you and how it fits in your family tree. A great piece of information to share would also be your plan for what happens to your treasure after you are no longer the caretaker. If you’re short a special object bring a photo to share.
Our best meetings are when we all tell our stories so please join us!
