Stay weather aware this afternoon and evening, with multiple ways to receive weather warnings!

Storms over north central South Dakota by mid afternoon to shift southeast, with lines of storms becoming more likely. The strongest parts of the storms will be right away, with the main concern being damaging winds. Still, all severe weather modes are possible, including large hail over 1" in diameter, heavy rain, and even a couple of tornadoes.

At our open house celebrating 50 years of the Deuel County Ambulance, Mark Law announced his retirement! He's been a part of the ambulance 48 years out of the 50 its been established and the President for 21 years! Great accomplishment Mark! With that accomplishment, he was also awarded the citizenship award by the Deuel County Sheriff's Office, presented bt Sheriff Cory Borg ! CONGRATS MARK! AND HAPPY RETIREMENT!!🚑🚑

A shout out to this tremendous team of caring and dedicated individuals! On June 19th, I attended a fabulous 50-year Emergency Medical Service (EMS) celebration at the Deuel County ambulance center. I had the pleasure of speaking with the local heroes in Deuel County who work tirelessly to save the lives of not only their community but also surrounding communities. I urge all of you in your respective communities to support your local EMS. Get involved, volunteer, and support your communities. These are essential workers who save many lives! You may have been one of those lives saved. We have an EMS crisis in South Dakota, and every county is in need of fully staffed EMS teams equipped with all the emergency life-saving equipment and skills. Please share this post and contact your local EMS to help our community. This summer, I have been selected to be on the EMS committee, and I am 100% dedicated to saving lives. Your health is my top priority. It’s not if we need EMS, it’s when. Help join me in making the Emergency Medical Services of South Dakota in all counties a priority for the people! Seconds matter in emergency life-saving care.

Interstate 29 has three spots where concrete has buckled in Brookings County. Damaged roadway is between mile markers 140-145(north of Brookings exit) on southbound traffic side. Crews are working on the issues. Please use extreme caution when traveling this stretch of interstate 29.
