Good morning, Tray-mendous friends! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weather. π This is undoubtedly my favorite time of year.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, a little over 3 years ago. Since then, its been a rocky road of chemotherapy, surgeries, and recoveries. Every 3 months I have labs and scans done to evaluate my cancer. I've been grateful that for the last year, I've managed to avoid chemotherapy. It's been a true blessing.
Unfortunately my tumor marker, which is a gauge for evaluating my cancer, has continued to rise over the last few months. Typically this has meant that there's cancer growing somewhere in my body. On October 5th, I will have my scans done to give me a clearer picture of what's going on with me, healthwise. Even though I feel relatively healthy, I sense that the cancer is doing something. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for the possibility that I will need to return to chemotherapy or surgery, quite likely in the next month or so.
For this reason, I have decided to step away from my tray making. Even though I love doing it and bringing happiness through it, I know I need to focus on my family and my health right now. I am finishing up a few current orders, and then will wait to see the results of my scans on the 5th. I will know more moving forward after that.
I am so grateful that God brought this little endeavor into my life. I've truly enjoyed meeting new friends, and pouring my creative energy into these trays. Since mid-July, I have completed orders for over 40 trays!! I had no idea the idea would be so well-received! I am hopeful that sometime in the near future I can pick things back up, but for now, I know the right thing to do is to step back. I want to make sure that I'm prioritizing my family and my health.
Thank you all for being so supportive of "Its Tray-mendous". It truly means a lot to me..
xoxo
