Classes • Career conversations • Community Smiles Yoga by Carmita Smiles

As a Yoga and Tai Chi for Balance Teacher, Reiki Master, Ayurvedic Practitioner, and Wellness Brand Strategist, I offer a holistic approach to well-being rooted in both ancient wisdom and modern practices. My classes and workshops—offered both online and in-person—are intentionally designed to support you in cultivating balance, awareness, and emotional release.

Whether you're seeking grounding movement, gentle healing, or mindful transformation, I guide you through practices that reconnect you to your body, calm the mind, and support long-term wellness. Each session is a safe and supportive space for letting go of what no longer serves you—physically, emotionally, and energetically. In front of the camera, I lead yoga, Tai Chi, and wellness workshops that empower participants to move with intention and live with clarity. Behind the scenes, I deepen my own practice through language learning, storytelling, and amplifying wellness brands through authentic social media strategy. My journey has been one of growth, resilience, and reclaiming my voice—and now, I'm here to support you in doing the same. Let’s connect and create space for you to shine, heal, and thrive.

SURPRISE 🥳 You DON'T have to be a yoga teacher to belong in the wellness world. 🌿

Wellness needs organizers, gardeners, writers, photographers, farmers market lovers, animal caretakers, ethical storytellers, community builders, conscious chefs, and space holders in all forms.🫶

If you feel called to this field but think, “I’m not certified enough” or “I don’t fit the mold” — pause there.

Aligned work starts with values, not titles.✨

A few ways to enter the space:
• Volunteer at local markets, farms, or animal sanctuaries
• Support ethical wellness brands behind the scenes (marketing, ops, events)
• Host small gatherings — book clubs, walks, community meals
• Take one foundational course that genuinely excites you
• Start sharing what you’re learning — your voice matters

You don’t need to lead a class to lead change.
There is room for your gifts here.

If you’re unsure how your skills translate into wellness, let’s map it out together. 💛

Take a breath. You deserve it.✨

If you’ve been feeling the nudge… this is it. 🌿

Maybe you see yourself working in organic culinary, creating nourishing meals that heal from the inside out.
Maybe you’re drawn to agriculture and farmers markets, connecting people to real food and the hands that grow it.
Maybe your heart is in caring for animals, honoring the non-harming principle and protecting Earth’s creatures with compassion.

Or maybe you feel called to become a wellness entrepreneur, teaching outside the studio, building community workshops, becoming a brand ambassador for ethical companies, or creating a purpose driven business that reflects your values.

There are so many aligned paths in the wellness world… but clarity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through conversation, reflection, and intentional action.

If you’re unsure how to navigate your next step, or you know you’re meant for more but don’t know where to begin, let’s talk.

Schedule 30 minutes with me and we’ll map out where you are, where you want to be, and your first aligned move through my Accountability Coaching services.

Your work should feel like service. Your service should feel like purpose. 💛

Have you attended any of the wellness classes at 👟? They hosted a yoga event (that I saw on Eventbrite) and had to check it out 🤩.

Hannah, the instructor, guided us though a gentle flow that focused on stretching the lower back, hips, and legs 🦵. Her music was very calming (no lyrics) and she allowed good space for quiet for us to focus on the asanas and breath 😌.

At the Crocker Park location on the westside of Cleveland, they offer yoga and Pilates. They may also offer other classes— just have to follow them on Eventbrite to find out 😉.

Saturdays are made for yoga workshops, coffee with friends, and handcrafted meals 🙌🏾😋 🍔😈

Sending so much gratitude to the for having me guide a Yoga Basics Workshop!

This gave me the opportunity to teach about the history of yoga, ancient texts, and learn about attendees experiences with the practice. Thanks so much to everyone who attended. Lookin forward to seein’ you next weekend for part 2 of the series.✨

After, me and headed over to for ube lattes that were deliciously divine 💜. Def recommend 👍👍👍 visiting, if you haven’t tried their crafted drinks 🥤. They have teas, matchas, Filipino pastries and more. 😋😋😋

After, we headed to to meet Liz and enjoy the delish dishes like their Reuben, Pop Lies Chikun, and sides of macaroni salad and mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy 🤤🤤🤤. Mmmmmm Mmmmm another MUST visit when in Cbus. 👌

Thank you to my ladies 🫶 and to Cbus 💟 for such a sweet welcoming back 🤗, and that lovely afternoon sunshine ☀️.

If non-negotiables are your standards… what are your flex points? (A flex point is something you prefer but willing to compromise on if the overall opportunity is aligned.)

When building a career in wellness, clarity isn’t just about what you refuse to accept. It’s also about knowing where you have room to adapt. Understanding that not everything needs to be a dealbreaker. ⛓️‍💥

For example:
1) You prefer fully remote, but would consider hybrid for the right mission and leadership.

2) You want a specific title but are open if the role offers meaningful growth.

3) You hoped for a higher salary but could negotiate if the benefits, flexibility, or impact are strong.

4) You envisioned working in private practice but might explore corporate wellness for stability and reach. ✨

In wellness, alignment matters but it doesn’t mean perfection. Sometimes the right opportunity stretches your expectations without violating your values.😌

What are 3 things you’d be willing to compromise on in your next role, and why?

There’s power 💪🏾 in knowing both your standards and your flexibility.

Side note: This delish matcha was crafted 🇫🇷 A must visit when in Paris.👌

Every step, even the shaky ones, is building resilience you can’t yet see. Speak to yourself with the same kindness you offer everyone else. You are capable. You are growing. And you don’t have to navigate this alone.

If this resonates and you’re in a season where your inner voice needs support, I’d love to walk alongside you. Sometimes the most powerful shift begins with one conversation. 🤍

You can:
✔ Book a session with me if you need personalized support.
✔ Attend a yoga class to get out of your head.
✔ Follow along for consistent reminders when uncertainty creeps in.

Let discuss non-negotiables. First off, what is it? 🤨 Secondly, name 3.

A non-negotiable is something you aren’t willing to compromise on. It can be a core value, boundary, or condition that must be present for you to say “yes.”

If you’re exploring your next role, especially in the wellness world, this question matters more than ever.

The wellness industry is rooted in alignment, integrity, and sustainability. Typically, this extends to the environments outside of the workplace, and in the home.

✨Journal Prompt✨
What are 3 non-negotiables for your next job or career?

They might include things like:
1) A culture that prioritizes mental and emotional well-being
2) Pay transparency and fair compensation
3) Flexible scheduling

If you’re building a career in wellness, your non-negotiables might center around alignment, community impact, and ethics.

Looking for work outside the wellness space? This question still applies. Knowing your non-negotiables protects your energy, clarifies your decisions, and prevents you from accepting roles that look good on paper but feel wrong in practice.

Happy Lunar (aka Chinese) New Year! We can begin to think— Spring, warmth, movement, clearing out the old, and enter— the year of the Fire Horse 🔥🐎.

Over the last few months, I’ve been going through my own clearing and welcoming in a new light. Please, allow me to re-introduce myself—

Hi 👋 I’m Carmita,

If you’re hiring, looking, or just feeling lost in the process— let’s talk.

In a world of fake job posts, ghosted applications, and “entry-level roles” asking for 10 years of experience, it’s hard to even know where to begin 😵‍💫.

I know — because I’ve lived it. After leaving the pet care world and stepping into the “What the heck am I doing?” phase, I found myself in the midst of the chaos.

What I do know is this:
I love work that serves people, takes me to new places, introduces me to new faces, and helps others find (a little) inner peace 😌. Which got me crafting my own lane (again).

I help people in wellness— instructors, practitioners, and seekers— connect with real, legitimate job opportunities. No ghosting. No fake listings. Real humans, real studios, real conversations.💯

Sometimes the best opportunities aren’t on job boards— they’re outside of the typical societal structures— waiting for the right connection.

Snippets of how I can help:
- Connect you to current openings in wellness spaces
- You can directly respond to job posts in my stories
- Attend one of my yoga classes or workshops (various benefits)
- DM for advisor services on wellness or career
- Stay connected and informed on the latest work trends, news, and programs

If you haven’t heard 😏 … the Lunar New Year and Year of the Fire 🔥 Horse 🐴 is upon us. You may have been feeling the energy (symptoms) of cold fingers or toes, digestive issues, cough out of nowhere, up and down bursts of emotions, or catching yourself in shallow breathing.

This is your reminder that there’s nothing wrong with you. 🙃 Take a moment to notice your breath— breathe deep… in and out 🌬️. Write your emotions down— notice when they change and what’s going on with you or around you when they suddenly bring you to a mindset of change. Move your body on a proactive way to release whatever is stack or if you feel jittery— dance, do jumping jacks, lift weights, lunges, or do yoga 😌.

In fact, here’s six moves to get you through—
0) Flow in action
1) Kneel and take a few breaths with hands at heart center
2) Cow (breathe in), cat (breathe out)
3) Camel pose variation
4) Warrior 2 to reverse to side angle with support
5) Unbed that front knee and find a triangle pose
6) Mountain

Repeat 2 more times ✨
Don’t forget to breathe.
