TSH is not enough information about your thyroid.

If your doctor told you “your thyroid labs are normal” but you’re still exhausted, this might be why.

Most conventional visits only include one thyroid marker, TSH. Here’s the part people don’t get told, TSH is not made in the thyroid. It’s made in the pituitary gland, and it is basically the signal telling your thyroid what to do.

So yes, TSH can be helpful, but even a normal reading can be an indication that dysfunction is brewing. BUT - it can also reflect what’s happening upstream, in the pituitary and hypothalamus, not always what’s happening in your thyroid.

That’s why in the functional health space, we usually want a fuller picture than “TSH only,” so we’re not guessing while you’re living with low energy.

GLP‑1 (glucagon-like-peptide) is something you actually make naturally. When you take it as a drug, it mimics what you make naturally, but lasts longer. Regulating blood sugar, decreasing appetite, and slowing digestion, GLP-1 is a powerful tool. And tools aren’t the problem.�✨
The problem is trying to build an observatory on a house made of toothpicks.�✨
What I’m seeing more and more:�✨
- People using GLP‑1s without rebuilding the foundations first: nervous system support; minerals/electrolytes; diet shifts with healthy proteins, fats, and carbs; good exercise; reducing stress; reducing exposure to toxins

- Then getting slammed with “mystery” issues like: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, fatigue, reflux/GERD, abdominal distension, burping

- And yes—gallbladder-related disorders showed up in clinical trial reporting!
This doesn’t make GLP‑1s “bad.” It means they’re not meant to be used in isolation.

Because here’s the part that matters:
�GLP‑1s can reduce appetite (which can reduce overall intake), and if someone isn’t intentionally protecting their foundations, it gets easier to under-eat protein, under-support muscle, and under-replace minerals, and under-support the nervous system (your stress)—and then the “results” come with a cost.
✨There is a smart way to do this.
✨There is a protective way to do this.
✨And there is a way that supports your body instead of overriding it.

In trauma informed therapy, shamanic energy medicine, and transformational coaching, trauma isn’t about what happened to you, it’s how you internalized it, how you remember it, and the way your body learned to respond in order to survive.

Trauma is stress that overwhelms your system – stress that crosses your threshold… and then your body does what it’s designed to do: it compensates.

And one way I map that compensation is through the chakra system:

It can slow your chakra flow, the life-force energy moving through a chakra, and then your body compensates.

That compensation can look like:
- Root: “I’m not safe” (hypervigilance, bracing, scarcity)
- Solar plexus: control / self-doubt / digestion getting weird
- Heart: guardedness, grief you can’t quite move through
- Throat: swallowing your truth, over-explaining, staying quiet
- Upper centers: disconnection, numbness, brain fog, spiritual doubt

Nothing is “wrong” with you. And no chakra is ever “bad.” This is information. Your body + your energy field communicate in patterns.

Supplements are meant to supplement or “assist” a solid foundation, not replace it!  This is an important distinction.

Before we stack more bottles on the counter, we could ask: 
- Is your body getting the basics it needs from real food? 
- Are you actually breaking down food + absorbing nutrients well? 
- Are your minerals/electrolytes being replenished (especially in aging fitness teachers)? 
- Are your meals supporting digestion + steady energy… or just getting you through the day?

This is where a FOOD-FIRST APPROACH changes the game. 

Because when your foundation is strong, you often need fewer interventions—not more.

AND we become a lot more invested in our health and a lot more connected to our food energetically when we create in our kitchens! Make your food! Concoct your nutrients!
