In the story of the three little pigs…
Two pigs build weak structures that are easily taken out by the wolf. But one of those pigs outsmarts the wolf by building a house so strong it can’t be blown over, and that’s what we’re talking about today.
Because when it comes to lifestyle change, many of you have built houses in the past that weren’t made to withstand a storm, much less the light breezes of everyday life.
Like any strong house, this one starts with the solid foundation of being crystal clear about the kind of life you want, not just the results you want to get from it. It addresses the root of your problems, not just the symptoms.
I’ll explain.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) is a CULTURE that’s designed to make sure you fail. The tenets of this culture are:
➾ You’re kept so busy you feel like you don’t have time to eat healthy, and you end up using convenience foods as a coping mechanism.
➾ You’re made to believe that eating healthy is too expensive, all the while being forced to succumb to the devastating consequences of the SAD to your health. High cholesterol, high blood sugar, obesity, breast cancer, reproductive disorders and intolerable menopausal symptoms are considered the norm when you’re part of the culture.
➾ You’re convinced by medical professionals that pharmaceuticals and procedures (via astronomical insurance premiums) are the only *valid* way to get by. Alternatives are considered extreme at best or whackadoodle at worst.
➾ Every holiday and life event centers around the SAD foods, alcohol and being sedentary. The culture depends on this, which is why our government gives 95% of our taxpayer-funded food subsidies to the meat, dairy, processed food and alcohol industries. This makes the prices appear lower, when in fact you’re paying taxes that fund these companies. Do they give subsidies to organic fruit and vegetable farmers? I’ll give you one guess. 😉
➾ It’s perfectly legal and therefore rampant in the industry to clinically formulate processed foods and combinations of foods to the Bliss Point, which is the actual calculation of fat, sugar and salt that will maximally addict you to a product. This doesn’t only apply to things like chips and sugary cereals, but to the Number 1 meal you get through the drive-thru at your favorite fast food place. They test these numbers out on kids, too, so they make sure you’re addicted good and early.
➾ They create the problem, then perpetually create sham solutions. Did you know that Nestle owned Jenny Craig? Or that former members of these Big Food companies sit on our government committees deciding food policy? Is your doctor telling you the truth - that heart disease and type 2 diabetes are reversible with diet - or just pushing pills and procedures? Is your OBGyn telling you that your menopausal symptoms are up to 88% reversible with diet or are they just shrugging their shoulders and recommending an ablation?
These are the truths, and it’s important that you understand them because they’re a big part of why your House of Lifestyle Change keeps getting blown over. The game is rigged in the wolf’s favor. 🐺
But there’s another part has to do with women specifically, and that’s a culture issue as well.
Women are doing more now than ever, and it’s exhausting. But most of us were raised to keep quiet and not make too many waves, to make others comfortable even if it makes us UNcomfortable, to keep saying yes when we want to say no, to keep the “peace” and to take on more even when our backs are breaking. I see it over and over again in the women I work with - and it shows up as the inability to set proper boundaries, internalized self-loathing, and the fear of standing apart from the crowd.
