Student Accessibility Services at John Carroll University was honored to co-host a powerful Neurodiversity Panel Discussion, featuring voices from a student, staff, faculty and community member. They don’t just speak about the experience—they live it.

Panelists shared stories of strength, struggle, resilience, and creativity. Each panelist reminded us that neurodiversity is not something to be “overcome,” but understood, embraced, and celebrated. This conversation wasn’t just informative—it was transformational. To everyone who showed up with openness, who asked thoughtful questions, and who left with a renewed sense of empathy and purpose, thank you.

Let’s continue to make space for authentic stories and inclusive systems. Because when neurodivergent voices lead the conversation, everyone benefits.

Thank you to our co-hosts Academic Success, Disabilities ERG, Diversity Equity and Inclusion and Campus Experience and Student Belonging.

Happy and ! Today we celebrate the 34th anniversary since the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. The ADA was a pivotal point towards providing equal opportunities to people with disabilities. As we celebrate, we recognize there is still work to do, and we commit ourselves to working toward a more inclusive society!

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973! Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act was the first piece of federal legislation that protected disabled Americans against discrimination. The Section 504 regulations were signed in 1977 as a result of the historic 504 Demonstrations that Judy was a leader of!
