Can any parents relate? 🔥

Summer break can be both wonderful AND incredibly stressful for parents and kids with the increase in unstructured time, routines that are thrown off and looser rules around bedtime and meals. I'm all for flexibility so long as you know what makes your symptoms worse because stressors are like gas for a fire. The more aware you are, the less likely that your lovely summer campfire will turn into a full-blown wildfire.

Learning to respond differently helps us keep the flames in check.

Funny how no one warns you that the hardest part of change isn’t knowing what to do, it’s dealing with everything your mind throws at you while you’re trying to do it.

The hesitation. The second-guessing. The “this is too hard, why bother” voice.

Most of the work isn’t in the action. It’s in learning to act in spite of what you’re feeling.
