We went through a lot of opposition, even a so called advocate for nursing homes opposed this, but the support for this legislation was far more than the opposition could handle and even the advocate was crushed.

This is the media story from Pennsylvania we did earlier this year. I will be talking to state legislators in several states to get a camera law introduced. This law failed in several states and I will try talking them into doing it one more time. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arizona, and several more.

Home care is not always the best solution. I hear a lot of people say "close all nursing homes down" or "you should take your loved one home". Abuse, exploitation and poor care is the leading problems in home care. It is very unregulated. Nursing homes are the best choice for loved ones that need total care. Not all nursing homes are bad and not all employees are bad, and they offer much more services than you can do at home. There are bad people that work in some and this is why we need cameras in all long term care facilities.

This is why we need cameras in all long term care facilities. This is the second nursing home I put a hidden camera in and caught about 12 employees neglecting residents to the point of actual harm. All of them were fired. This video is hours long, and the aids you see on here are on video doing this for hours of videos.

Cameras in not a solve all problems but it is a huge help. It shows staffing, aide giving hands on care, other residents, falls, and so much more. I see lot of people calling for staffing laws. Congress passed a law called the Big Beautiful Bill that puts staffing laws on hold until 2034.

Fight for laws that are obtainable, not for laws on how you think a nursing home should be run. All of this has been has been said before, and the one law that is passing is the Camera law.
In two nursing homes I would have not known what was happening it is was not for a camera. IN both nursing homes you can see there was enough staff to do the job. It's how they did the job that is the problem. Camera's work for all of this.

They protect everyone except the residents. The only camera in the entire world that everyone worries about is the one camera that is going to be pointed at one resident in a long term care facility that only one person will view the video, and not even the facility can view the video without permission from the person responsible for putting in the camera. The worry about one person who can't tell us what is happening. The video can't be put on or streamed on social media. They worry about the privacy rights of everyone except the residents and put that over neglect, abuse, r**e and murder. The most ridiculous reasons not to have a camera come from the Heath Care Association.

Tell Congress To Enact Laws For Electronic Monitoring in All Long Term Care Facilities

Tell Congress it's time to do something for all the people. Show us they can be bipartisan on an issue that helps stop abuse in all long term care facilities.

Abuse is not partisan, it does not discriminate, and it does not care if you are rich or poor. Abuse comes in all forms and all care facilities. It took Congress 17 years to pass the Nursing Home Reform Act of 1987 which includes the Resident Bill of Rights. It's been 38 years since this legislation was passed. It's time to do more.

This is a petition that will work. Camera laws have been passed in many states and all states are trying to get one. Tell Congress to do something for all of the People. We are 76 signatures from 1000 to get this petition to move to the next stage where it will be visible to more people.
I have worked with many state legislators around the country who are trying to get this law passed in their state. They will support a federal law for all states. Even if the state you live in has this law it is most likely for nursing homes and assisted living facilities only. This federal law will include all Long Term Care Facilities.
Sign and Share this Petition, send it to your friends and tell them to sign and share. There is no reason why other petitions to save everyone else but the elderly get hundreds of thousands of signatures and doing something that can save the elderly from abuse gets none.
