In 2024, I edited & self-published my first book! I also spent months recording the audio version. I have sold almost 100 copies. All I want for Christmas is to reach 100 copies sold 🩷. Yesterday I got the opportunity to my sell books at my Alma Mater’s homecoming. It was great to be face-to-face with fellow alumni and discuss experiences that ultimately led me to write & publish a book. It was my first time vending & I was able to sell 75% of my books as well as support other Knights’ businesses.

Together we discussed solutions for the generation of Knights to come, we laughed, we reminisced & we networked. Special thank you to the Ballou Alumni Association for all of their hard work 💙🤍💛 I know we only saw half of what you have done, but it was a beautiful & well organized event. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in it! Thank you to everyone who purchased a book from me! I hope you enjoy it 💙🤍💛 I sure enjoyed myself

As a kid, I had a bit of stage fright. I would volunteer to be behind the curtains of shows so that people wouldn’t see me or on a team of people where I could blend in. Panic ensued when eyes were on me. It took years to realize that the spotlight isn’t so scary, especially when it gives you a platform to share lessons learned.

Before you ask what I’m doing for my 33rd birthday, let me tell you…I’m taking a nap series😂. A good, uninterrupted, phone on DND, drooling with my mouth open type of nap series. I want to know what well-rested feels like at 33 😂.

Thank you Lulu Mariscal, LMSW for inviting me to speak with CLES 1st-4th graders about the importance of writing, storytelling, and how to use hobbies to get through bouts of frustration. The students made me laugh, asked really good questions and shared 3 sentence stories with me. With this opportunity, I got to share writing tips & anger coping strategies with 8 different classes in 3 hours, reaching over 80 students. I needed this more than the kids. I’m truly humble and honered.

P.S. My book earrings were a hit with the 1st graders.
