I went out this weekend to St Croix State Park—where one of my women’s backpacking trips will take place this spring.

It was cold, rainy. Not ideal. But also beautiful and magical in its own way.

Before I went out, I was in a bit of a worry whirlpool. But nature, especially walking in nature has a way of helping us process stuff. It helps us think creatively. It helps offer us perspective.

Applications are closed for the spring trip, but you can apply for the fall one now!

Have you read this one? Lately I’ve been reading Stillness Is the Key, and one idea that’s been staying with me is how often we try to think our way into clarity.

We analyze, plan, and try to figure things out—but often, that just leads to a mental circles than fresh ideas.

Ah-ha's and break throughs tend to come in a different way. When we slow down, step out of our usual pace, and give ourselves a little breathing room, insight and creativity have space to emerge.

Nature, of course, is one of my favorite ways to explore this. Being outside can naturally help us feel more relaxed and at ease. And from that place, we begin to see ourselves and the world a little differently.

It can offer insight, understanding, and creativity that’s hard to access when we’re caught in the swirl of everyday life.

Lots of ways to explore this together this spring:
🌲 Earth Play I April 18
🌸 Secrets of Nature Women’s Backpacking Retreat I May 2–3
✨Coming Home Women’s Retreat at Will Heal Farm I May 9
💫 Stronger Together Women’s Backpacking Experience I May 15–17

What if the natural world wasn’t a resource—but a relationship?

For the final post in this Women [Making] History Month series, I wanted to honor Robin Wall Kimmerer—a voice who has deeply shaped how many of us understand our relationship with the natural world.

Kimmerer is a botanist, author, and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Her work brings together science and Indigenous wisdom in a way that feels both grounded and deeply moving.

One of the most powerful shifts she offers is this:What if nature isn’t something separate from us—but something we are part of?

I’ve had the opportunity to attend a couple of events with her in person, and the way she speaks and teaches carries the same depth and presence as her writing. It’s the kind of perspective that stays with you and continues to unfold over time.

Grateful to close out this series with her work—and for all the women who have helped reshape how we understand our place in the world.

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself—and there are quite a few new faces here—so I wanted to take a moment to say hello.

My name is Laura, and I help people reconnect with nature in ways that support growth, healing, and a deeper sense of belonging.💗

I’ve always felt at home outside—hiking, camping, making mud pies as a kid. That connection led me to study environmental science and chemistry, but over time, I found myself drawn just as strongly to personal growth—yoga, meditation, philosophy, and the many ways we can learn to meet life’s uncertain with wisdom.✨

For the past 12 years, I’ve been leading classes, workshops, and retreats centered on empowerment, nature, and yoga. These days, I’m especially passionate about helping people build a more conscious relationship with nature—and discovering how that relationship can support them through life’s challenges.💫

If you’re feeling the pull to spend more time outside, connect more deeply, or try something new, here are a few upcoming events this spring:
🌳Earth Play — April 18 | 1–3 PM
🌸Secrets of Nature Women’s Backpacking — May 2–3 | St. Croix State Park
💗Coming Home Women’s Retreat — May 8 | 1–4 PM | Will Heal Farm
🌲Stronger Together Women’s Backpacking — May 15–17 | Superior Hiking Trail

I also have a few new offerings in the works—so stay tuned!🔥

I’m glad you’re here. If you’ve been here a while, I’d love to hear what brought you here.💗🌊🌲🌙

For Women’s History Month, I’ve been reflecting on the women who have shaped how we understand and experience the natural world.

Mary Oliver was one of those voices.

She spent much of her life walking in the woods and along the shoreline, paying close attention to the natural world—and writing about it in a way that was simple, clear, and deeply felt.

At a time when much of poetry was more abstract or academic, her work reached millions of people. Not by explaining nature, but by helping us feel our place within it.

Her writing reminds us that belonging isn’t something we earn.

It’s something we begin to notice—through attention, presence, and relationship with the world around us.
