We are over the moon to introduce you to Amanda Goad, our second new OTY instructor!

Amanda has been connected to OTY since we opened back in 2016! Check out her bio below to know her a bit more and catch a class with her in the next couple weeks as she helps us cover classes while we go on retreat.

“Hi! I’m Amanda, a newly minted Doctor of Physical Therapy and yoga teacher with a deep passion for healing through movement. And truly, it all started with yoga.

I began practicing in 2018 through Old Town Yoga Online, before ever stepping into a studio. Once I finally did, something clicked and the rest is history. Yoga started to shift my life: my back pain eased, my anxiety quieted, and I began building a more loving, compassionate relationship with my body.

That transformation inspired me to go deeper, leading me to complete Yoga Teacher Training right here at Old Town Yoga. Over time, my practice evolved, and so did my desire to help others heal eventually guiding me to pursue my Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Now, life has come full circle. I’m honored to share both my yoga practice and PT knowledge with students in the very place where it all began. My classes combine mindful movement, functional anatomy, and a whole lot of heart so you can move better, feel better, and reconnect with yourself.

I can’t wait to see you on the mat!”

We are thrilled to announce the first of two new instructors at Old Town Yoga, Krista Watson! 🤍

You can catch her subbing Tuesday morning at 5:30am and taking over the Friday 4:30pm Level 1 starting this week! Check out her bio below to get to know her a bit more and give her a warm welcome!

“Hello Old Town Yoga friends! My name is Krista, and I am so excited to share my passion for yoga with
you all. Yoga has been a part of my life for the last 18 years and I started teaching 6 years ago. I am so
grateful to have discovered this practice. It has given me the gift of stillness and finding comfort in the
“pause.” It has also allowed me to approach life with a much more open mind and open heart. I look
forward to practicing the pairing of movement with breath as we come together on our mats.”

Why We’re Here

Old Town Yoga was born out of a longing to connect more deeply. Desiree, studio founder and instructor, began her yoga practice at home with online classes. As she fell in love with yoga she began to search for a local studio where she could grow her practice and connect with like-minded people. She struggled to find a studio that was friendly, convenient and affordable, so after becoming a yoga instructor she decided to open the studio she always dreamed of being a student at herself. Her vision is to provide the community with a studio that is inclusive and motivating. Old Town Yoga's environment fosters a sense of connection and empowerment, with classes that will challenge, but also encourage students to reach potentials they are not even aware of. All at a price that is not freakin' ridiculous.
