What’s the best way to take care of your skin at night so it looks healthy and radiant?
While everyone’s skin needs are different, this basic four-step skin care routine will set you on the right path.
• Step 1: First cleanse – Wash off any makeup, sunscreen and excess oil using a quality cleanser for your skin type.
• Step 2: Second cleanse – Remove dirt, pollutants, toxins and any other pore-clogging agents. You can use the same cleanser as step 1 or a different one, depending on the product.
• Step 3: Treat – Use an exfoliant, masque or serum to treat any skin conditions or prevent signs of aging.
• Step 4: Balance – Give your skin extra moisture and nutrients to aid the repairing process with a quality moisturizer or night cream.

It’s true! Beauty sleep is a real thing. When you sleep well, your skin has the energy it needs to repair itself.
Researchers from University Hospitals Case Medical Center studied how sleep affects skin health and found that:
• People who consistently get a good night’s sleep have 30% more skin recovery than those who don’t
• Sleep-deprived people take longer to heal from cuts, sunburns and inflammation In short, the better you sleep, the healthier your skin will be.
Here are tips to help you get more beauty sleep:

• Plan for 7 – 9 hours of sleep. Calculate how long it takes to do your bedtime routine then add 15 – 20 min to fall asleep
• Go to bed and get up at the same time every day
• Have a set bedtime routine to tell your brain it is time to wind down
• Eat an early dinner
• Eat meals at the same time each day
• No liquids two hours before bed so you don’t have to get up to urinate
• No caffeine after midday
• No sweets after 7 p.m.
• Adjust your bedroom temperature to 62 – 68 degrees F. Extreme temperatures can
disrupt your sleep.
• Stop using electronics two hours before going to bed. Blue light can prevent your brain
from releasing melatonin to make you sleepy.
• Take an aromatherapy-infused bath to relax your muscles
