2 days after our 4th Annual 5k and I’m flooded with thoughts:
1. A community event, like one that brings everyone together, zero judgements, with positive high energy & MOVEMENT is necessary. Community grows stronger TOGETHER.
2. I mean, to no surprise, everyone is happier after movement.
3. Annually, like every single year after the 5k, people find themselves BACK into movement routine. Whether someone inspired them at the event, or they just felt so good in motion, they create a routine for themselves again, centered with movement. That in itself makes the entire production worth it.
4. A 5k is both terrifying and inspiring to so many people. If you’ve never done one or have only done a handful, our imagination plays games! What if? How will I feel? Can I? You can and you will. Show up. Move through courageously.
5. Many people don’t because fear gets the best of them. So we host a 5th annual, and a 6th annual… and continue to encourage you to trust yourself.
6. The way my clients & friends who couldn’t attend supported via donation and sharing the event page means more than I can express.
7. Wait, my clients who PR’d!!!!! That is just so fun!!! Have a big, fun, annual challenge to show up for year after year is so exciting!
8. Lucky number 8 —
I knew I loved Eagles’ Haven & through this process, gaining a deeper understanding of their work made me love them so much more. When you need help, just walk in. I’m grateful they exist.
If you made it this far, thanks for sticking around, thanks for believing in my vision, and thank you SO much for supporting me & the cause.
