“At the Community, we made a delicious homemade blueberry sauce. We warmed the blueberries until they popped open, then added brown sugar and butter to create a sweet, syrupy topping. It was served over angel food cake and was absolutely delightful. Our residents truly enjoyed this tasty treat!”

It was a busy and wonderful day in the community! Our friends from the Humane Society came to visit. Ms. SueMarie and Sadie spent time with us and also brought along new friends, Ms. Janine and her fur baby Archie. There were lots of smiles, plenty of smoochies, and many of our residents shared that they had never seen a white Collie before. It was truly a special visit filled with joy and puppy love. 🐾💛

Later in the day, we had fun with a STEM experiment! We created fizzing rainbow pots using baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring. By using different measurements of baking soda and vinegar, we were able to see different levels of fizz. It was a colorful, hands-on activity that sparked curiosity and lots of smiles. 🌈🧪

Today we enjoyed a wonderful Pet Therapy visit with Trisha and Chance. You can truly see how much our residents cherish this special time. Chance, a talkative Husky, always has plenty to say, and the residents absolutely delight in “chatting” with him. There was no shortage of puppy love in the Community today—it brought smiles all around! 🐾💙

Today we had so much fun working with clay and creating the cutest shamrocks! 🍀

Clay activities are wonderful in memory care because they engage the senses and support fine motor skills, hand strength, and coordination. The hands-on experience of shaping and molding also encourages focus and creativity.

Using a seasonal theme like shamrocks can spark memories and meaningful conversation about past celebrations and traditions. Most of all, it brings smiles and a great sense of accomplishment when residents see what they’ve created!

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend here at the community! On Saturday, our friends from Minds in Motion volunteered their time and hosted an exciting game of Bingo. The residents truly loved spending time with the young adults—they brought so many smiles, laughs, and joyful energy. On Sunday, Piano Man Carl kept us entertained with his lively music that had everyone feeling like dancing. It was a fun-filled weekend and a great time was had by all!

Today at the community was filled with fun, laughter, and meaningful moments! 🌟

We kicked things off with an exciting Low Vision Lab with Legacy. A Low Vision Lab is a hands-on activity that helps participants understand what vision changes may feel like by using special glasses and simple tasks. Our residents put their skills to the test by placing Tic Tac’s into a bottle—and they absolutely aced it! It was both eye-opening and lots of fun.

Later in the day, the celebration continued as we honored all of our February birthdays 🎉. We sang along to our favorite tunes with Rockin’ Ralph, enjoyed refreshing iced coffee, and indulged in delicious cake. It was the perfect way to top off a wonderful day full of smiles, music, and celebration! 🎂☕🎶

It was a beautiful day to spend time in the garden! We watered our plants, pulled a few weeds, and had fun learning the names of the flowers we planted together. The fresh air and sunshine made it the perfect day to be outside.

Later, the excitement continued with our very own Bob Sled Race using the sleighs the Men’s Club proudly painted. The competition was full of laughter as everyone cheered each other on from the sidelines. We wrapped up the festivities in true Olympic style—celebrating with medals, mimosas, and plenty of smiles!

We had a wonderful day at the community yesterday filled with meaningful moments and joyful connections. Our ladies enjoyed a scenic trip to the garden center, where they selected beautiful new plants for our garden. Outings like these provide valuable sensory stimulation, spark conversation, and encourage decision-making — all so beneficial in a memory care setting.

When we returned, we were delighted to welcome our sweet young volunteers, Lacy and Jack, for an afternoon of art and creativity. Intergenerational visits bring so much warmth and energy to our residents. Sharing smiles, stories, and artistic expression together creates meaningful engagement and heartwarming memories for everyone involved. It was truly a special day!

We had such a fun-filled and heartwarming day at the community!

The morning started with lots of love from our wonderful friends at Happy Go Lucky. Trish and Chase stopped by for a sweet visit, bringing plenty of snuggles, smiles, and even a few smooches that absolutely brightened everyone’s day!

Later, our friends from the Light House of Broward joined us for a festive President’s Day celebration. Residents got creative making patriotic sun visors and enjoyed an exciting, laughter-filled game of Bingo that kept everyone cheering and engaged.

In between all the fun, we even squeezed in a quick adventure to Bender’s Farm for a little change of scenery and fresh air!

We wrapped up the day with a lively round of President’s Day trivia, putting our knowledge to the test and ending on a high note. What a wonderful day full of joy, connection, and celebration!
