2026 is officially a landmark year for CP State. Not only are we celebrating our 80th Anniversary of advocating for New Yorkers with disabilities, but we are also thrilled to announce that we have been chosen as a 2026 grantee of the Cabrini Health Foundation.

This support is vital as we continue our CHOP program, specifically bridging the gap in healthcare for people with disabilities. For eight decades, our mission has been to foster the exchange of ideas and advocacy for those with cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities. This partnership with the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation ensures that as we look back on our history, we are also moving forward with the resources to provide critical healthcare access for years to come.

Today, December 3rd, we proudly recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)! This day is more than an observance, it’s a worldwide commitment to champion the dignity, rights, and well-being of all people with disabilities.

Proclaimed by the UN in 1992, IDPD helps elevate the understanding of disability issues across health, social, and economic life. We stand with our community promoting the full and meaningful inclusion of every individual.

For CP State and our Affiliates, this commitment is what we live every day. Our mission is to advocate for over 100,000 individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD) right here in New York. We work to break down barriers and ensure equal opportunities for all by providing essential supports to our Affiliates, advocating, educating, and fighting for necessary legislation.
