Don’t forget the basics!!!! Here’s a horse that I saw for the first time, a jumper with no lameness issues. Most the time I request a set radiograph before and after shoeing when I work on a horse for the first time. Notice the 5 degree negative palmar angle on the right front, most the time you correct it with a proper trim as you can see on the radiograph bellow that after the trim we accomplish a 2 degree positive PA and the Pastern Axis alignment have improved also and the foot has remained with about 12mm sole depth after trim. A Nanric full rocker shoe was applied to the foot just to increase a better break over at the toe and keep the foot with a positive Pa and good Pastern Axis through the 5 weeks shoeing cycle!
