This customer was in a real bind. They had everything going against them.
❌️ Trailer axles bent
❌️ Memorial Day weekend
❌️ Tight deadline - needs to move Monday
❌️ Remote location on the Alabama/Georgia border.

Iron Doctors was able to get it done and get them back on the road to meet their deadline.
This trailer used a hard to find axle - 76" spring center and a 4.5" drop spindle. Getting that specific axle normally would be difficult, and on a holiday weekend - impossible.
Thanks to Outback Trailers in Steele, they were instrumental in getting this customer going. They had two 6,000 lb Dexter axles in stock, although with no drop spindle, and 80" spring centers (which is standard). They also stocked new spring perches.
I was able to get the axles and perches Sunday morning and get out to the customer to pull the bent axles, cut the old spring perches and weld new ones on at 76" width.
The trailer was able to move by Monday morning for its important deadline, and they even gained 4.5" of ground clearance, which they were very happy about.

This Takeuchi was unexpectedly put out of service due to an exploded final drive. Two hours later the new final drive was installed and the machine was back to tracking.

While I do specialize in Vermeer directional drills, I still have a soft spot for Deere equipment, the equipment I got to know very well when I began my career. It's like seeing an old friend.

The drive chuck on this Vermeer D24x40 had broken 4 of the 6 bolts off in the head shaft.
Another person had tried to drill them out and use an extractor to remove one, and the extractor also broke off in the bolt.
All 4 bolts were successfully removed, requiring the one with the broken extractor to be welded out. The extractor material is harder than a drill bit and damaged a carbide burr.
A new drive chuck was installed with new dowels, bolts and a new water seal.
The drill was placed back into service in only a few hours.

We do A/C work too!
The operator complained of poor cooling for the air conditioner.
A pressure test showed excessively high high-side pressure, and excessively low low-side pressure. The expansion valve had an unusually high temperature on the discharge line. A lack of flow across the expansion valve was suspected.
The system was recovered and the expansion valve was removed. The internals of the valve were coated in a powdered gray substance. It was suspected that the compressor was failing internally, and clogging the expansion valve. A new compressor, expansion valve, and filter dryer were installed, and the system was solvent flushed.
After removing the old compressor, it was disassembled and inspected. There was scoring found on one cylinder, which was the source of the gray debris.
The AC now blows cold and everyone is happy.

Thanks for the business, but Iron Doctors has ceased operations.
I have sold everything and left Colorado. It's just not the place for me anymore. There are currently no plans to reopen elsewhere.

Komatsu CK30 was running fine, until the operator dumped in the stockpile. When backing up, the tracks quit moving. All hydraulics worked, and the pump whined when trying to track, but the tracks would not turn. Initial diagnosis revealed that the parking brake solenoid was shorted at 0.4 ohms. But additionally, there was no power to the park brake solenoid. With the park brake solenoid replaced, the next task was to figure out why there was no power to the brake release wire. Testing led to the interlock module. Luckily this module allows for disassembly, and a burnt trace was found on the PCB. The interlock module was replaced, and then the brake release wire was energized. Kind of.
Amazingly, this machine was running for an unknown amount of time with a MISSING park brake release relay. No idea how it had been working. New relay installed, machine tracks normally!
