Ponderings for the day... Was just talking with a someone who was telling me about how they were trying some new stuff and feeling better and how they weren't sure if it was just a placebo effect or not. It made me sad because all too often, people use that term to essentially state that their progress isn't real or valid or sustainable. I had to explain that what the term "Placebo Effect" really signifies is a process in which positive results (pain relief, improved focus, happiness, etc) were the result of the brain and body's ability to heal itself naturally and not the direct effect of an external force or treatment. It is not something to be minimized, but something to be in awe over. How different would our world look if we learned to look at our healing from that perspective? ❤️
