Dear Friends, Colleagues, Brothers and Sisters,
The recent floods across Texas have brought unimaginable loss and grief to many of our communities. Like so many of you, I’ve followed the reports with a heavy heart, but this tragedy struck especially close to home when I learned that a friend and colleague of mine, the Fire Chief of Marble Falls Volunteer Fire Department, is still missing and presumed lost as of this post.
As first responders, we are no strangers to tragedy. But the loss of innocent lives, especially children, cuts deeper than most. It is moments like these that test our resilience, strain our emotional wellbeing, and remind us that even the strongest among us need support.
While there are numerous mental health resources available statewide, I want to personally extend an offer of support from On Duty Health to any first responder in need. We have an exceptional team of licensed clinical Psychologists who have spent their careers working directly with first responders and offering specialized care in areas like critical incident stress, PTSD, and trauma recovery.
One of the most effective tools we use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a proven method that helps individuals process traumatic events, reduce distressing thoughts, and develop healthier coping strategies. It’s especially effective for PTSD and has helped countless first responders regain control and find stability after critical incidents.
There is no cost. This is simply our way of doing what we can to help support our first response community. This offer is NOT limited to only our customers.
If you or someone in your department could benefit from speaking with one of our trusted providers, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here, and we’re ready to help, confidentially, compassionately, and with the expertise that first responders deserve.
