Why approach healing through a trauma informed lens?
Whether your trauma is deeply rooted in past experiences or a buildup of experiences piled on throughout the years. Using techniques that support the digestion and release of trauma can clear space for healing and growth.
Our bodies hold a tremendous amount of emotions in our hips. Specifically, the PSOAS muscle, located at the Solar Plexus Chakra and connected to both the Muladhara and Svadhisthana Chakras. This deep core muscle is responsible for our fight or flight response as well as a container for emotions. When a threat is perceived by the body and mind, the muscle contracts, pulling us into a protective position. Supporting the opening and elongation of this muscle helps to release stored emotions in a safe space.
Asanas and somatic movements that focus on opening and softening the hips support the digestion and release of trauma emotions.
Marma Points are energetic points on the body that directly correlate to bodily and emotional pathways. Stimulating these points not only activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) but encourage an overall sense of safety.
Why do I practice Trauma Informed Yoga and Ayurveda?
Because...life has a way of sharing experiences in different ways for everyone. Why not offer a supportive space for yourself and others to work through these experiences.
*These techniques are also great for tiny bodies who are just learning how to understand big feelings *
