It's taken me this long to post anything.
Wally was a in-home hospice patient since January 2020.
Lesley was his nurse and Aisha his HHA. I can't begin to tell you how awesome both of them are.
Wally loved them both and looked forward to their visits every week, as I did.
They were a great support especially to me as I watched Wally go downhill. He suffered from Diabetes and Alzheimers.
A massive stroke on 7/9, took his life on 7/13. I expected him to just waste away as he had been doing. But I'm glad that he didn't suffer. The stroke started at 8:30 am and went for most of the day. He had 2 seizures one the on-call nurse pronounced him dead because of the DNR there was nothing she could do but watch. I believe he actually died, just waited until Monday morning at 4:40 for his body to go.
I want to thank Lesley and Aisha for all their help and care, I believe they both went above and beyond in Wally's and my care.
I recommend Colorado Palliative & Hospice Care to anyone that may need their services. I give them an A+++++++.

Music for end of life transition

"The 3therapeuticmusic we play for someone on the cusp of transition is very, very simple. The basis for this is that as the person approaches death, the brain begins to shut down. That part of the brain that can hear and analyze music is one of the very last parts to shut down, but even that part eventually slows."
