Human eggs are produced by follicles, fluid-filled sacs on the side of the o***y, which, around the time of ovulation, produce a reddish protrusion seen in the pictures.
The egg comes from the end of this, surrounded by a jelly-like substance containing cells.
The egg itself is only the size of a full-stop, and the whole o***y, which contains many immature eggs, just a couple of inches long.
They belonged to a 45-year-old Belgian woman, and Dr Donnez, from the Catholic University of Louvain, told New Scientist that the pictures would help scientists understand the mechanisms involved.
He said that some theories had suggested an "explosive" release for the egg, but the ovulation he witnessed took 15 minutes to complete.
Professor Alan McNeilly, from the Medical Research Council's Human Reproduction Unit in Edinburgh, said that this fitted with his own research into the ovulation process.
He said: "It really is a fascinating insight into ovulation, and to see it in real life is an incredibly rare occurrence.

Yesterday was such a big day for our practice, we wanted to give our babies a chance to shine (and even had another join the crew late last night 🥳). There is just something so beautiful about milestones! They remind us of where we’ve come from and help us look forward to what’s ahead!! Today we celebrate 800 home births!! 🥳 we have been so blessed to serve our community in this capacity!!

Objective
To examine the pregnancy and clinical pregnancy rates of those patients' undergoing elective individualized pre- and post-embryo transfer acupuncture compared to receiving no acupuncture on day of frozen embryo transfer (FET).

All patients meeting internal clinic standards for having a frozen embryo transfer can elect to have individualized pre- and post-embryo transfer acupuncture

Similarly, the clinical pregnancy rate between the two groups was also statistically significant, with the acupuncture group having a clinical pregnancy rate of 60.6% compared to 46.95% in the control group (p=0.017). Additionally, of the patients that underwent PGT and transferred known euploid embryos, those that received acupuncture had a significantly higher pregnancy rate of 73.93% compared to 63.29% for those that did not (p=0.042).

The effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for poor semen quality in infertile males: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Here is a long arduous research study done with RCT's on how acupuncture can help with Male Factor.

Acupuncture herbs lifestyle modifications can make a huge impact on s***m.

Remember it takes a healthy egg and a healthy s***m to create a healthy baby.

This systematic review included a total of four RCTs that evaluated acupuncture with or without an additional oral herb mixture, in comparison with placebo or the herb mixture alone. We found that acupuncture might significantly improve s***m motility and s***m concentration but has no significant additional impact on the pregnancy rate of couples with male infertility. No adverse events were reported in all the trials.

The pooled data on s***m motility and concentration suggest that acupuncture could be applied to oligozoos***mia and/or asthenozoos***mia patients. Various mechanisms could explain the effectiveness of acupuncture. Pei et al.19 have reported that acupuncture could be beneficial for acrosome position and shape, nuclear shape, axonemal pattern and shape, and accessory fibers. Gurfinkel et al.20 suggested that neural stimulation by acupuncture might affect testicle and epididymis vasodilation. Siterman et al.21,22 proposed that acupuncture might reduce lipid peroxidation in human s***matozoa or ge***al inflammatory reaction by enhancing immune responses. Future studies confirming these mechanisms are needed.
