Barb Cronin, Executive Director is retiring

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement from Mission Medical. On the one hand, I am excited to begin the next chapter in my life’s journey. I have a growing list of places to go and things to see. On the other hand, I will miss working with the staff, volunteers, and patients that have become a second family over the past 10+ years.

I am immensely proud of what has been accomplished under my leadership since joining MMC in 2012. Mission Medical now has a very positive reputation in the community for the work we are doing every day. I have expanded the services provided to our patients and improved the quality of service. The current staff and volunteer teams are top-notch, dedicated, happy, and performing exceptionally well. As a whole, they are the best ever. Mission Medical is on a very sound, stable financial footing and poised for continued growth.

Thank you for your support and friendship.

COVID testing will end on April 30, 2022. CDPHE is reducing the number of COVID testing sites across Colorado, April 30th will be the last day of testing at Mission Medical.

Is it time for you to get tested? Were you visiting friends and family for Christmas? Are you planning a trip? Do you need to be tested regularly for work? If you do not want to wait in line, go to Mission Medical Center.

Mission Medical performs saliva and nasal PCR tests Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is a free and fast testing site. Don’t wait in line for hours, make your appointment at covidcheckcolorado.org select Mission Medical Center or stop in at Mission Medical, 2125 East LaSalle Street, Colorado Springs 80909.

These tests are sponsored by the CDPHE – Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Mission Medical takes your samples and COVIDCheck Colorado laboratories perform the PCR testing.

Typically, salvia tests results are returned to you in less than 48 hours; nasal test results are 48 – 72 hours. You will a test and/or email with your results.

MMC will be testing Monday – Wednesday this week, allowing the staff and volunteers can spend time with family and friends to celebrate the start of the New Year.

Mission Medical is a nonprofit free clinic for uninsured, low-income residents of the Pikes Peak Region, COVID testing is open to everyone.

With the major power outage in the area, Mission Medical Center will not be conducting COVID tests the remainder of the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone that came out to Red Leg Brewing yesterday! The terrific staff was great as always. The MMC team also had a chance to meet and get to know the next group of CU-CSB Med Students.

Red Leg Brewing Company is throwing a party and Mission Medical is the guest of honor. Let's get together today and have some fun and make a little money for MMC. Invite a friend or 2 and have some terrific beer (or seltzer). We also have something to celebrate!

Most of the MMC team will be there around 4:00 PM after COVID testing is done for the day.

Mission Medical will be getting COVID-19 vaccines from the State of Colorado! The vaccinations are free.

You qualify for a free vaccination based on your age, medical condition, or occupation. We encourage you to get vaccinated to protect yourself and those around you. In your case, the survey is to gather statistical information for the state. When you fill out the survey it indicates that you want to be vaccinated and a representative of MMC will contact you to schedule an appointment for March 9, 2021. Vaccinations will be by appointment only, no walk-ins.
