Dr. Swiderski and Ana met Miss Audrey at Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital where they addressed her BAOS (Brachycephalic Airway Obstructive Syndrome). BAOS is a common condition encountered in brachycephalic dog breeds.
What is a Brachycephalic breed? Think of those cute, yet smushy faced breeds like Audrey here, including but not limited to Bulldogs (French and English), Boxers, Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Pugs, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, and Bull Mastiffs. BAOS can include a combination of up to five anatomic abnormalities: 1) Stenotic (small) nares (or nostrils), 2) An elongated soft palate, 3) Everted saccules (found just next to the vocal cords) 4) Laryngeal collapse and 5) Hypoplastic trachea (narrowed windpipe).
Every patient is affected differently, but most commonly, the surgery to ensure a patient can breathe comfortably is performed to enlarge the nostrils and trim the soft palate. Just look at Audrey's before and after photos! As you can see, this procedure ensure that this cutie can breathe easier! 💜🐶🥰

Hershey took his first trip to the groomer today and wanted to show off his cute new puppy cut to Dr Cristy and Jen. 😊
So impressed with the level of care my boys received at Pine Creek! My cat who has had an eye issue forever, no other vet had properly diagnosed - he is now on eye drops & his whole temperament has turned around! He is so love-y and it makes me realize how much pain he must have been in this whole time. Thank you do Dr. Van House and staff for changing both of my cats' quality of life almost immediately after our visit. Highly recommend!

Good Morning, pet parents!
With the new year, we've implemented changes to help us grow and become more efficient.
One of those exciting changes is a new electronic medical record (EMR) system!
Sadly, the EMR that works best with our practice does not integrate with PetDesk, and we will be discontinuing our use of the app on the 31st of January. Not to worry - there will be a patient portal along with our new system that allows our pet parents access to their pets' records, request appointments and medication refills. An email will be sent to all active clients in our system to sign into their new portal the week of January 30th. Unfortunately, this new system does not currently have a loyalty program. Whilst we will be getting a spreadsheet of everyone's current points so we don't lose your credits, we are still working out an internal loyalty system which may take longer than we thought to implement.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to care for your pets, and ask that you be patient with us as we navigate this huge change ahead of us!

Happy New Year, pet parents!
Another year has come and gone, and it certainly was one for reflection, learning, and growth. Not only learning about more about new medicine, but also about the needs of our dedicated and hard working team members. It is of the utmost importance that we care for and support our team as much as they do your furry family members!
In order to provide a better work-life integration, we have decided to shorten our extended Monday and Tuesday hours from 7:30 pm to 6pm.
Our new hours, effective January 23rd, are:
Monday - Friday
7:30 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We greatly appreciate your understanding and support in this decision, and wish you the happiest of new years. May it be everyone's best year yet!

Hello and happy hump day!
A quick announcement to inform all of our amazing pet parents that we will not be scheduling nurse appointments on most Mondays and Fridays due to being short staffed. Typical appointments scheduled with our nurses are nail trims, a**l gland expressions, some laboratory sample collections, and booster vaccines. Nurse appointments will still be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week.
We have been tirelessly searching for the right doctors and nurses to bring into our team, and hoping this is a temporary schedule change until they're here! We truly appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
