✨ Make sure your pet is safe and sound by keeping them indoors, away from windows if possible to avoid any scares from the sound of fireworks and loud noises.
✨ Keep alcohol and non pet-friendly treats out of reach.
✨ Update your pet's information. In case your pet gets loose and lost, make sure he/she is microchipped and wearing their ID tags.

Lymphoma is one of the most common forms of canine cancer. National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day aims to remind us to stay attentive and to stay on top of regular checkups so that we can potentially catch any problems before they arise or worsen.

🍬 Save the candy for the kiddos! Chocolate can cause vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm and seizures in pets. Xylitol (artificial sweetener) in candy, gum, and mints is toxic to your pet.

👻 Although we love seeing pets in their pawsitively cute costumes, if your pet shows any signs of discomfort or distress, please remove their costume immediately.

🕸️ Make sure your pet is wearing proper identification and/or is microchipped in case he or she does escape. If you decide to take your pet with you on your trick-or-treating adventure, consider adding reflective clothing or items to your pet to increase visibility when dark.

Global Cat Day is a day to bring awareness and to protect our feline friends. More than any other shelter animal, cats and kittens face euthanization at a much higher rate. However, programs such as trap, neuter, and release (TNR) are making it possible for cats to live full and healthy lives right in our neighborhoods.

October is Animal Safety & Protection Month. This month (and every month) is a time to recognize safety measures you should take to protect your pet. Check out the below tips:

🐾 Be proactive. Keep all animals up-to-date on immunizations.
🐾 Pet-proof your home. Remove or secure choking hazards and toxic chemicals.
🐾 Identify your animals. Place tags securely on collars and even label collars with your contact information.
🐾 In a disaster, have a plan. Who will be responsible for locating each animal in the house? How will you transport them? If it is a fire, human life takes priority. Place decals on windows and doors with the number of humans and each kind and number of pets residing in the home.
🐾 Learn basic first aid. Caring for your animal at home will prevent a minor injury from becoming severe. Always call your veterinarian if you are unsure.
🐾 Know your animal. If your animal’s behavior changes, watch for signs of illness. Is he injured or spent too much time in the heat? Contact your veterinarian before giving human over-the-counter medications.
