She researches tirelessly for the latest information specific to different cell types and has created programs that profoundly change cancer outcomes and survivorship. Her work is a perfect blend of traditional medical knowledge, integrative and holistic practices and novel, cutting edge science. Her patients say, “Kim doesn’t stop until she has answers.”
She graduated summa cm laude (highest of honors) with a BS in Nutrition from Arizona State University and was one of the first registered dietitians in the country to be board certified in nutrition support. She earned her master’s degree in two years from Texas Tech University while working full time and then earned a non-traditional PhD in Holistic Nutrition and developed Holistic Nutrition Services for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Kim has educated thousands of cancer patients through her contributions to Breast Cancer Wellness magazine, Cure, Coping, Myeloma Today, The Chicago Tribune, D Magazine and The Ireland Report as well as many other publications. She earned membership into the prestigious national speaker’s association and has been invited to speak nationally and internationally on cancer and nutrition. She has served on the advisory board for Singapore-based, CancerStory.com and other non-profit US-based organizations like Taking Control of Your Cancer and Friends Together. She spoke at an international forum of the latest advancements in oncology clinical practice in Japan (Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kawasaki) and various locations throughout Canada. She started her own publishing company and wrote an award-winning book that sold over 300,000 copies and was translated into Japanese and developed into a distance-learning course. She penned the foreword for the first-of-its-kind book in Japan on breast cancer and nutrition, “The Recipe for Breast Cancer” and was honored to coauthor a book with Dr. Carl Helvie and Dr. Bernie Segal, “You Can Beat Lung Cancer”. She served as an industry consultant for international businesses like Asahi Elles (Tokyo), EuroRSCG Magnet and US-based Millennium Biotechnologies and Cancer Nutrition Centers of America and was chosen as a medical advisor for Lifetime Television’s Walgreen’s Health Corner. She was selected to teach at the Center for Complementary Medicine in IL for the first U.S. government, grant-funded complementary and alternative medicine residency program. Her practice and patients have taught her the value of a day, the promise of tomorrow and the hope for a brighter future exists when you realize you have amazing healing potential.
