It's National Chocolate Day! Did you know that dark chocolate is one of the best sources of antioxidants? Dark chocolate has been proven to boost well-being and reduce the risk of heart disease. It is packed with nutrients including iron, magnesium, copper, and soluble fiber. Chocolate, just like cannabis, contains a cannabinoid – anandamide, stimulating a sense of happiness and mental wellness.

We advise consulting with a medical ma*****na physician who can walk you through the process of using edibles as a delivery method for medical ma*****na. Our medical doctors at Relaxed Clarity can help assist you in obtaining a valid Colorado medical ma*****na card.

Many mothers use cannabis to help deal with maternal stress and cope with nausea, relaxation, sleep and anxiety, and depression which may be more pronounced during the pregnancy and postpartum stage.

From 2016 to 2019, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Colorado Health Department, Children’s Hospital Colorado neonatologist Erica Wymore, MD, MPH, led a prospective, observational pharmacokinetic study of participants with prenatal ma*****na use who had delivered their babies and intended to breastfeed.

All participants had detectable THC in their breast milk through the entirety of the six weeks, with trace amounts of other metabolites. Some participants had very small amounts, and some had 10 to 100 times higher, which is likely related to patterns of ma*****na use, a person’s BMI or their metabolism. Read more:

The passing of the Farm Bill in 2018 made many h**p-based products including CBD oil more widely accessible to consumers. In honor of National H**p Day, we hope that people will explore the many uses for CBD and how its use might encourage a broader perspective on daily well-being.

The endocannabinoid system is responsible for a variety of functions, and one of them is pain. Studies have found that h**p may help reduce chronic pain. H**p oil can help support your endocannabinoid system and aid in reducing inflammation. February marks Black History Month and we want to take a moment to recognize and honor African American doctors and healthcare professionals that made significant contributions to the medical industry, development of modern medicine, and clinical practice.

James McCoune Smith was the first African American to earn a medical degree and practice medicine in the United States.

Dr. Charles Drew was the first physician to use blood plasma for transfusion, pioneering methods of storing blood and developing the first large-scale blood bank in the United States during WWII.

Mary Eliza Mahoney was the first black professional nurse in the United States.

These pioneers and their efforts have profoundly benefitted the medical community. While it is vital to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the past, at Relaxed Clarity, we also work hard every day to advance the future of medicine.

Happy National Hot Chocolate Day! Enjoy a cup of delicious, cannabis-infused hot chocolate this winter season with this recipe:

1 teaspoon of coconut oil.
1 Cup of milk. Any type of milk (dairy or dairy-free) will work just fine.
2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder. To give your weed-infused hot cocoa a chocolatey taste, make sure you use unsweetened cocoa powder.
1 Cup of water
A coffee filter
1-2 grams of decarboxylated cannabis. (Note: Cannabis won't give you the “high” if you don't decarboxylate it.)

Decarboxylation involves heating cannabis to activate the cannabinoids and converting THCA to THC. To “decarb” your cannabis flower, bake finely ground cannabis on a cookie sheet at 220-245°F for approximately 40 minutes.

1. In a saucepan, mix cannabis, milk, coconut oil, and water. Don't forget to add coconut oil at this stage. Cannabinoids are fat-soluble, so you need to add a fat to feel the effects of cannabis.
2. Heat slowly. Stir every few minutes until the milk reaches 170-180°F. Make sure it doesn’t boil.
3. Put cocoa powder into your mug and set a coffee filter or mesh strainer on top of it.
4. After heating the milk and cannabis for several minutes, pour it through the filter.
5. Discard the residual plant matter and coffee filter once you are done.

Now you can sit back, enjoy your delicious weed-infused hot cocoa, and relax with cannabis.

A “center” is commonly referred to as a "dispensary."

The center, or dispensary, is a retail store where you may purchase your medicine for a small fee. Medical ma*****na is taxable however, the tax is substantially lower than recreational tax and prices. Every center has different products and prices. Centers can also cultivate your medicine, typically which results in you receiving a discount for shopping at this location.

Dispensary consumers pick their primary dispensary based on familiarity, convenience, and product selection. Most dispensary consumers check out a menu before shopping, and familiarity is the top reason for choosing to go to the same store. However, promotions and deals are the factors that can get someone to try out a new place.

The staff or "budtenders" can help you with the most common questions and help you find the right strain/form of medicine. Dispensary consumers overwhelmingly reported that their experience with budtenders has been positive and 39% of respondents said they would actively seek out the budtender they met on a previous visit (Source: New Frontier Data, The Dispensary Experience: Cannabis Consumer Attitudes, Preferences and Opinions). Read more:

Please note you may only have one center signed up at a time and it is common courtesy to give them 120 days before signing up a different center if you chose to do so.

According to New Frontier Data, the CBD skincare market looks to grow with a projected growth of nearly 8x reaching $7.6 billion by 2029. Interest in CBD skincare is higher among men, and younger age groups. The non-intoxicating nature of cannabinoid-based, skincare ingredients may appeal to medical consumers whose primary goal is consistent symptom relief. Topicals can come in the form of bath bombs, creams, lotions, lip balms, and moisturizers. Topicals are discrete and non-impairing.

The possibilities of cannabidiol are endless, and for patients on their cannabis journey, cannabidiol has the possibility to work wonders; supported by clinical trials and evidence, the hope is that CBD cements itself as a drug that can aid in a myriad of medical issues.

Pick a jar, any jar. According to Harvard professor and marketing expert Gerald Zaltman, author of “How Customers Think: Essential Insights into the Mind of the Market”, about 95% of all purchasing decisions are completely subconscious, and about 93% of buyers rely on visual cues when considering new products.

New Frontier Data surveyed active cannabis consumers about six different faux brands imagined in the form of 1/8th-oz. jars, and asked them to describe and rank their responses. Check out the results: The most popular jar was also that most directly related to cannabis for medicinal purposes, featuring the “Rx” abbreviation integrated in the logo with plain black lettering against a white background.

For many winter athletes, including those who compete in snow sports, living with chronic pain is a reality. The use of medicinal cannabis in sports could help more athletes stay on track with their treatment regimens and possibly provide an alternative to opioids, which can have unfavorable side effects. Medical cannabis is an effective treatment choice and enables those athletes to play the sport they love without experiencing any pain.

Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you a harvest of blessings, good health and good times. Happy Thanksgiving!

Green Wednesday is the day before Thanksgiving when patients typically visit their local dispensaries. Most dispensaries are often closed for the holiday and many patients like to stock up in preparation. It's the second largest cannabis-buying holiday, after 420. Cannabis patients may medicate to minimize the symptoms during what may seem like the most stressful time of year, potentially making uncomfortable interactions more enjoyable.

Here’s everything you need to know about the application process and if you have a condition that qualifies you for a medical card:

: Today marks the anniversary of the passage of Amendment 64 that legalized cannabis for adult, recreational use in Colorado.

There are key differences between recreational and medical cannabis. And if you qualify, there are several benefits to becoming a patient. Cannabis-infused topicals see higher frequencies of use for recovering from exercise, easing everyday pain, or enhancing intimacy.

Topicals by far have the lowest rates of side effects by nature of their usage. That may be a function of reduced rates of bioavailability due to the hydrophobic cannabinoids needed to pass through the aqueous layer of one’s skin.
