Eighteenth Element Yoga So much more than your typical yoga studio. Fitness yoga and beyond! Outreaching to help clients to manage trauma, PTSD, & adaptive needs through yoga.

So often there are people seeking help through yoga. Therapists and doctors often tell their clients to go to yoga which is awesome. Yet, there are so many places that offer yoga and so many styles! For a traumatized person, the typical yoga class at the gyms and many studios can elicit trauma triggers. People packed in with their mats practically touching. Fast moving flows where one can feel lost and the teacher providing assists without asking or teaching that there is only one way to pursue a pose. We at Eighteenth Element Yoga understand your concerns. So whether you are just going to yoga for exercise, to get a stretch, to rehabilitate an injury, reduce stress, have special needs, or to work through trauma, you'll feel this is perfect studio home for you. All of our clients are VIPs and without you, there is no us!

TODAY: Take a Mindful bath
The key to a mindful bath is to incorporate our 5 senses.
Sight - candles or ambient lighting
Smell - incense, scented candles, or essential oils
Taste - enjoy dark chocolate, tea, or wine
Hearing - play music
Touch - use lotion or body oils after your bath

The events in Afghanistan are just the latest “trigger” that has many veterans dealing with significant mental, emotional, physical, sleep, and substance use challenges.

Please join us Wednesday, August 25th at 5pm PT / 8pm ET for a , hosted by VA-trained Clinical Psychologist, and Founder of VYP, Dr. Daniel Libby. He will present an easy-to-follow model that will help you to create the space needed to support your loved ones as they recover from extreme stress or trauma.

This will provide an overview to the Mindful Resilience approach to , , and the path from posttraumatic stress to . Participants will leave with an understanding of how recovery from happens, and concrete ways that they can support the recovery of their loved ones.

During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from Dr. Daniel Libby, as well as learn about the resources and tools Veterans Yoga Project offers to , and family members.

Our Story

So often there are people seeking help through yoga. Therapists and doctors often tell their clients to go to yoga which is awesome. Yet, there are so many places that offer yoga and so many styles! For a traumatized person, the typical yoga class at the gyms and many studios can elicit trauma triggers. People are often packed in with their mats practically touching so there is no option to pick a space that feels safe within the room. Theres’ fast moving flows and seemlingly complicated poses where one can feel lost and the teacher providing assists without asking. Lara and Kristen, owners and instructors at Eighteenth Element Yoga wanted to be different from all those other places. We understand your concerns! We are affordable, beginner friendly, adaptive, and trauma-sensitive. So whether you are just going to yoga for exercise, to rehabilitate an injury, reduce stress, have special needs, or to work through trauma or grief, you'll feel this is perfect studio home for you. All of our clients are VIPs and without you, there is no us! Our motto is yoga is for everyone and every “body.”
