Please join us in congratulating Oyauma Garrison, President & CEO of Maryhaven, on being named to the inaugural POWER 100 list by Mahogany Columbus - a historic recognition celebrating influential leaders across Central Ohio’s African American community.

This honor reflects Oyauma’s unwavering commitment to service, leadership, and advocacy for individuals and families seeking hope and healing.

His work continues to shape stronger systems of care, expand access to treatment, and inspire meaningful change throughout our region.

We also celebrate the many remarkable leaders included in this first-ever POWER 100 - individuals making an impact across business, government, nonprofit organizations, the arts, and civic life.

Being recognized alongside such an accomplished group is both an honor and a testament to the strength of leadership within our community.

We know Oyauma approaches this recognition with humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of responsibility to continue serving others.

Our entire team is proud to stand behind him and grateful for the vision, compassion, and steady leadership he brings to Maryhaven every day.

Congratulations, Oyauma, on this well-deserved honor. We are honored to have you as our leader.

We are incredibly grateful to Honda for their generous support of Maryhaven and the clients we serve throughout our community.

Honda’s contribution is making a direct and meaningful impact - helping enhance the Residential Center at Alum Creek and improve the overall client experience, engagement, and recovery outcomes.

Support like this strengthens our ability to provide the comprehensive, compassionate care that individuals need as they work toward stability and independence.

Each year, more than 20,000 people turn to Maryhaven for help.

Honda’s investment helps ensure we can continue delivering integrated counseling, case management, and wraparound services that address both immediate needs and the long-term path to recovery - including connections to housing, workforce readiness, and continuing education.

This kind of partnership reflects Honda’s deep commitment to helping people reach their full potential and to strengthening the communities where their employees and neighbors live and work.

Their support helps us expand our mission, serve more individuals, and create lasting change for people who are often overlooked when it comes to care and opportunity.

Thank you, Honda, for believing in Maryhaven’s mission and for helping us continue to restore lives across Central Ohio.

A special visit and a meaningful moment for our community at Maryhaven.

Yesterday, Eric Zimmer returned to Maryhaven Alum Creek to personally deliver, sign, and hand out copies of his book, How a Little Becomes a Lot: The Art of Small Changes for a More Meaningful Life, to our clients.

Alongside Boomer Schmidt, Eric rolled in a cart full of books and spent time connecting with individuals on their recovery journey - offering encouragement, conversation, and proof that change is possible.

More than 30 years ago, Eric began his own recovery journey at Maryhaven.

Returning to give back directly to those walking a similar path today was a powerful full-circle moment - one filled with hope, gratitude, and inspiration.

Moments like these are what make our community so strong.

At Maryhaven, recovery is built on connection, compassion, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to heal and move forward.

Together, we continue to create a place where hope lives and recovery begins.

What an incredible day at the Cap City Half Marathon this past Saturday in Columbus.

From the Start Line Stage, where Oyauma Garrison, President & CEO of Maryhaven, helped kick off the event alongside community leaders and dignitaries, to the runners, walkers, volunteers, donors, and sponsors who showed up in full force - the energy, support, and sense of community were truly inspiring.

Every step taken represented perseverance, determination, and the belief that recovery is possible.

Seeing so many people come together to support Team Maryhaven was a powerful reminder that when a community rallies around a cause, real change happens.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this year’s race.

We’re proud to stand alongside you and grateful for the commitment you show to helping individuals and families move forward - from start to finish. 🏃‍♀️

Maryhaven proudly congratulates the Fall 2025 cohort of the Franklin County Behavioral Health Leadership Academy on completing their six-month program and celebrating their graduation in early March.

The ceremony recognized 19 mid-level managers from across the Franklin County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board provider network who participated in this leadership development initiative - part of a broader effort to strengthen and grow the behavioral health workforce in Columbus and throughout Central Ohio.

We are especially proud to celebrate Katelyn Zuk, Federal Programs Counselor at Maryhaven, for her dedication to professional growth and her commitment to serving individuals and families on their recovery journey.

Investing in leadership strengthens the future of behavioral health care - and we are honored to have team members like Katelyn helping lead the way.

We’re proud to recognize Angela Russell of Maryhaven for lending her voice, experience, and leadership to an important conversation about opioid abuse awareness.

Angela recently served as a panelist during the Opioid Abuse Awareness session at the Black Family Wellness Expo for the Columbus and Twin Rivers Links, Incorporated at the Linden Community Center.

Angela was joined by community leaders from healthcare, law enforcement, and crisis services to help set the tone for a conversation grounded in empathy, understanding, and hope.

Her willingness to share lived experience and professional insight helps break down stigma, encourage early intervention, and remind families that recovery is possible.

Discussions like these are critical for strengthening prevention, supporting families, and building a more connected system of care across our community.

When organizations and individuals come together to listen, learn, and act, meaningful change can happen.

Thank you, Angela, for representing Maryhaven and for continuing to advocate for those who need support, compassion, and a path forward.
