About Coach Margaret & Achieving Bliss
I graduated college in 2014 with a Bachelor of Social Work and a desire to help people but quickly found myself in recreation because I felt that I could help people but in a wellness setting. After several jobs and uncertainties about what I wanted to do moving forward, I found Health Coaching and The Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I quickly began the 6 month Holistic Health Coach Program.
A few months into the program, I quickly knew that this was the career that would leave me feeling fulfilled. With combining my love for people, my own love for health and wellness seen through my triathlon career, and supporting and encouraging others to achieve their goals, I found a community that I knew was home.
Owning a business was never something I thought I would do in my life, until I found health coaching. My passion for helping athletes push past their barriers to be successful, individuals looking to lose weight and helping those in the corporate world to beat out burnout and live a more mindful and healthy life at work, are the biggest reasons I decided to create Achieving Bliss, LLC.
Why the name "Achieving Bliss?" As a part of my own personal health & wellness journey, I am healing from a trauma in my past and going to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) where one of the techniques utilized is "safe place." "Safe place" may be thought of as an emotional sanctuary where a person can internally go to recover stability when feeling stressed. My safe place is called 'Bliss.' That emotional sanctuary not only provides stability, but also a memory of me being the happiest I can remember. I was in a gorgeous place, pushing my body to new levels, I was more fit than I ever was at that point and my mantra was to say yes to everything (which included me skydiving and bungy jumping!). In that moment of my life I had Achieved Bliss and it is my goal as a health coach to help others feel the level of happiness, and bliss, that I felt in that moment, and continue to feel every time I utilize my "safe place" sanctuary.
