Another clip from the NAWBO Columbus Boost event!

One thing we talked about was thinking outside the box when it comes to employee benefits. Not every team member needs health insurance, especially if they are covered through a spouse’s plan. But employers still want to reward great employees and give them a reason to stay.

Sometimes the best benefits are the unexpected ones. Things like covering a monthly cleaning service, offering memberships, or providing perks that genuinely make life easier.

Benefits do not always have to look traditional to make a real impact.

Thank you to NAWBO Columbus for the opportunity to speak at the NAWBO Boost event.

During the conversation, I shared an example of how unpredictable health insurance can be. I have a client who is a real estate agent with one person on her plan. She paid about $12,000 for the year and only used around $3,000 in benefits, yet she is still facing a 20% increase at renewal.

Fully insured plans offer predictability, but they often come with higher monthly costs. Level funded plans can offer lower premiums, but there is some risk involved.

Understanding these differences can help small business owners choose coverage that truly fits their needs.

Last week, Tiffany participated in a Public Policy and Advocacy Elder and Child Care Roundtable alongside AARP Ohio and State Representative Adam Mathews. The discussion focused on proposed legislation for an elder care tax credit and ways to better support families navigating caregiving responsibilities.

NAWBO Columbus also gathered at The Wyler Collection to celebrate the debut of the new Audi A3 and connect with fellow women business leaders in our community.
