Ron & I attended the The Cure Starts Now gala last night. It was such a wonderful experience supporting a great charity. We were able to meet some amazing families in person rather than through Facebook.

Maddy has a MRI on Tuesday. Scanxiety in full effect, but we are hopeful for clear results. I will be sure to update you once I know the outcome!

Well we went to the hospital this morning and they sent us home. Maddy unfortunately has a upper respiratory infection , her symptoms have improved a lot but she had wheezing on exam so we decided to postpone the MRI until she’s better . She still needs to be put under anesthesia and there was a good chance she would have trouble coming off intubation and would have to be admitted . So we didn’t want to risk that. She got a breathing treatment and er headed home. Maddy was still happy to see the animals . MRI rescheduled for 3/12 !

Good Evening !! Sorry it’s been a while for an update … but no news is good news! We are just living life, which is all we really want anyway, a chance to live life! Maddy has been doing really great. She is just our cute sassy, sweet little girl. It’s unseasonably warm here for February so we spent some time outside today. She is loving school and is finally starting to cooperate with her therapies (sometimes 😏.) They see starting to evaluate her in all areas (speach,OT, PT, IQ) for Kindergarten . While I’m happy they are doing this, it also scares me. It’s hard to see it all laid out in a long report, how all of this has affected her. I’m terrified to see how the radiation damaged her little brain. I just wish none of this happened to her. I’m so incredibly grateful she is here and continues to thrive but sometimes its hard with all of the unknowns about her future.

But look at her! Doesn’t she look fabulous ?!
I know she will do great things in her LONG life. She is so fierce and strong willed that nothing will stop her!!

She has a MRI on Friday (2/16), with this brings so much worry. No relaxing for this anxious mama.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers . I will be sure to update you once i know the results . If you can also pray that her big brothers flu does not infect her and I so this MRI doesn’t get postponed I would appreciate it!!

Hello Everyone!! Hope you all had a great holiday season! Our family had a great time spent with family & friends. Sorry I have not updated in a while. No news is good news, Maddy has been doing great. We just go to all her therapy appointments and Maddy is back in preschool… which she loves. Her next MRI is Feb 16 here at Nationwide Childrens Hospital. Here are some pictures from Christmas. Hope y‘all have a happy & healthy 2024!

Please say a prayer for this little girl and her family. She is a brain cancer warrior that is having neck pain with pain/numbness in her arms. She’s getting an MRI right now is pray that the cancer has not moved to her neck.

They consulted with the on call St Jude doctor and he recommended that Gray be admitted for close observation and an MRI in the morning. The on call St Jude physician expressed concern for possible new lesion/mass in her cervical spine due to her symptoms. So while they normally focus only on the brain during her MRIs—tomorrow morning, they’ll be looking at her brain but also looking closely at her cervical spine. Reading that recommendation and seeing him voice that concern in her chart made me go numb. Even though it was my biggest concern too—it’s harder to hear that a doctor shares that concern with me.

I’m a mess. Falling apart internally. Large pieces of me that I thought I glued together are just tumbling down. On the outside, I’m going to stay strong and positive for her. I’m going to pray and I’m going to ask all of you to pray for no disease/mass in her spine. My mind is reeling, my heart is aching. How do you sleep when you have no idea what you’re facing and just sit here and wait for daylight to find out? There won’t be any sleep for me.

I can’t find words to do justice to how I’m feeling right now. I’m convinced they don’t exist. It’s time for your collective prayers to storm the heavens. We are now deep in the trenches.

Amazing!!!

Look at our HEALTHY girl!!! She’s a rockstar!! You’d never know by looking at her that she has had brain cancer 2x by 3 yrs old. 4 brain surgeries and 35 radiation treatments. I’m so proud of her. I totally believe she is still healthy and thriving from the cannabis medication . I’m so blessed to be part of this community.
