A brief Christmas message from Ben, our Director of Operations. It is a wonderful reflection how the quiet sacrifice and dedication of our caregivers, and how they embody the heart of God:
"I am not sure where you go whenever you seek to encounter God, but for me it is not typically in front of a computer screen to do weekly billing. However, this week was different, there were some extra entries I was required to make and as I repeatedly keyed in 5 AM around twenty times in a row something suddenly hit me. I thought to myself this caregiver is probably getting up around 4 AM every morning to make this visit happen so another family in need can live out their regular daily routine. Now I cannot tell you how difficult it is to find a caregiver for any situation to drive to your home for just a couple of hours of work, especially at 5 AM in the morning. I felt like the Holy Spirit whispered to me in that moment, “Now that is the Heart of God.”
It is this same heart that makes the Christmas season possible, celebrating a God who is so generous and so loving that He gives us everything, even His own Son. The beauty of Christmas is that we are reminded that God took on flesh to live among us (Mt 1:23, Jn1:14). The beauty of Saint Joseph Home Health Care is that 365 days a year, all throughout various homes in Western Ohio, our caregivers get to live out life with other individuals in need and bless them and their families in a multitude of ways. It is evident that working for Saint Joseph Home Health Care is much more than just a job for our caregivers, but a calling to love those that are in need, just like God loves us. On behalf of Saint Joseph Home Health Care, we would like to thank everyone who makes this mission and ministry to so many possible. We love you and cannot thank our caregivers, clients, families, friends, donors, and board members enough. None of this would be possible without you. May the Prince of Peace live among you this Season." - Ben
