Driver Intervention Program: Court-referred driver education
Primary Behavioral Health Connections, Inc. presents our 72- Hour Driver Intervention Program (DIP) which is a residential program for OVI offenders administered through Primary Behavioral Health Connections. The program educates individuals about the social, physical and psychological effects of alcohol and drug use and is designed to r
educe the risk of future alcohol and drug use arrests. The 72-Hour Driver Intervention Program seeks to identify individuals who require further treatment and refer then to the appropriate treatment avenue. The program is certified through the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. This course will cover:
Physical, psychological and social consequences of alcohol and other drug use
Physiological and psychological effects of alcohol and other drugs on driving performance
Blood alcohol content (BAC), drugs and the definition of legal impairment
Symptoms of alcohol and other drug abuse
The progressive nature of alcohol and other drug dependence
Levels of license suspension and revocation
Fines and levels of incarceration
Treatment and self-help resources for alcohol and other drug addiction
