🍂 Seasonal Energy Update — Autumn (Metal Season)

With the Fall Equinox, we transition from Late Summer (Earth) into Autumn — the Metal season in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Just as the trees release their leaves, we are invited to release what no longer serves, making space for clarity and deeper connection.

✨ Metal Element Themes

Organs: Lungs & Large Intestine — teaching us to take in what nourishes (breath, inspiration) and let go of what we no longer need.

Emotions: Grief is the emotion of the Metal element, but it carries the gift of gratitude. Together, they refine and deepen the heart.

Medicine: Deep breathing, open-air walks, journaling what you’re ready to release, Qi Gong movements that expand and contract through the arms and chest.

💫 Qi Gong for Metal: Standing with arms wide to gather fresh Qi, then gently exhaling as the arms close across the chest — mirroring the rhythm of the lungs.

🌱 Journal Prompt: “If I were to exhale and release one belief, habit, or fear that no longer serves me, what would it be — and what new inspiration could flow in to take its place?”

🦋 Reader Love for Soul Walk ✨

One of the most meaningful parts of publishing my memoir has been hearing how it touches others’ hearts. 💜

If you’ve been waiting to get your copy, now is the perfect time — the Soul Walk ebook is still specially priced at $1.99 for 22 days to honor of National Grief Awareness Day & Su***de Prevention Month. However, it's such an important topic that I decided to extend the promotion until the end of September, so be sure to grab your copy before then. ✨

📖 Soul Walk was written from my heart, and it means so much to know it’s finding its way into the hearts of others.

Welcome to the Fall Equinox 🍂 I talked more about the eclipse and the equinox in my newsletter that went out today - but I thought I’d do a card pull for the group today. The card deck I used is Native Spirit and the card I drew for the group is circle of Life 🌀🌎

This card meaning is ‘All things are possible.’ Stand in your center and be open. The four Winds are bringing dreams to fruition.

Right now there are many chapters closing (symbolic of the falling leaves). My guides once told me to look at endings more neutrally like we do at falling leaves - appreciate their beauty and the gifts that chapter (or person, place, thing) brought us - then bless them and let go. Honor an ending creates space for something new. 🌱🌳

We are clearing right now (and will be the rest of this season) to make way for the new.

Let me know if this resonates and I hope today brings you peace and balance. 💛

🍂 Preparing for the Fall Equinox

The Fall Equinox arrives today on September 22 — the sacred moment when day and night stand in perfect balance. Across many traditions, it’s seen as a portal of reflection, gratitude, and release as we step into the season of autumn.

And there's something extra special this year with it falling on the 22nd (I'm just saying...hello angel number)

Here are a few gentle ways to honor the Equinox:
✨ Create balance in your body — a short Qi Gong or yoga practice, focusing on equal inhales and exhales.
✨ Release with ritual — write down one thing you’re ready to let go of, then safely burn or bury the paper in the earth.
✨ Offer gratitude — list 3 blessings you’ve gathered from the summer season.
✨ Connect with nature — spend time outdoors, notice the shift in light and air, and allow yourself to mirror nature’s slowing pace.
✨ Set an intention for fall — ask: What do I want to cultivate as the days grow shorter?

💫 The Equinox reminds us that balance is always available — not as a perfect state, but as a practice of returning again and again.

✨ Alternatives to Sage for Smoke Cleansing ✨

Sage has become one of the most recognized plants for energy clearing, but it’s not the only sacred option — and in many cases, it’s not the most sustainable or culturally respectful choice.

There are many beautiful local herbs you can use to cleanse your space and energy:
🌿 Cedar — grounding, protective, deeply connected to the Earth.
🌿 Rosemary — uplifting, clearing, and easy to grow in your own garden.
🌿 Lavender — soothing, heart-opening, and wonderful for calming anxious energy.
🌿 Mugwort — used for intuition, dreams, and creating sacred space.

💫 How to practice:

Choose an herb that resonates with you.

Light it carefully, allowing the smoke to rise.

Set a clear intention: “I release what no longer serves and invite in peace.”

Gently waft the smoke around yourself or your space.

Extinguish safely and offer gratitude.

Remember: it’s the intention that clears as much as the smoke itself. 🌬️

🦋 Do you have a favorite herb you use to shift the energy in your home? Share below — I’d love to hear your practices!

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline—and healing isn’t about “getting over it.”

As a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler’s program, I’ve learned to hold space for the truth: grief is as unique as the love that shaped it.

This training deepened my ability to walk alongside those moving through loss—not just with compassion, but with tools that honor the sacredness of each individual journey.

Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a life that no longer fits… you are not broken.

And if you’re supporting someone who’s grieving—don’t be afraid to lean in.
Be specific when offering help:
“Can I bring you a coffee?” or “I’m at the store—what can I pick up for you?”
Offer space for sorrow, and gentle invitations for reprieve (if and when they’re ready). No timelines. No pressure to “move on.”

Just presence. Permission. And grace.

How do you support others in their grief?
I’d love to hear what’s helped—whether as the supporter or the one being held.

🔮 Trusting the Whisper

Intuition rarely shouts. More often, it comes as a quiet nudge — a soft whisper that lives in the body, a subtle knowing that doesn’t need to explain itself. The challenge is that we live in a world that celebrates noise, logic, and certainty… and yet Spirit often speaks in the spaces in between.

Sometimes it feels like a gentle pull toward someone or something. Other times, it’s that uneasy twinge that says: this isn’t for me. Both are sacred. Both deserve our attention.

The more we honor these whispers, the louder they become. Over time, intuition stops being a fleeting thought and begins to feel like a trusted companion.

💫 Practice for today: Pause for a few breaths. Notice the very first “gut feeling” that surfaces. No judgment, no filtering. Write it down. This is how we begin building a relationship with our intuition — one whisper at a time.

✨ Reflection: What’s the whisper that’s asking for your attention today?

World Su***de Prevention Day
Remembering Joe 💛

I wasn’t sure I wanted to post today. But I felt called to—because too often, when it comes to su***de, silence takes the place of conversation. And behind every statistic are real people—someone’s partner, parent, sibling, or friend.

I’ll never forget a phone call with the coroner’s office when I broke down in tears over yet another delay in Joe’s report. Through my sobs, I remember saying: “You don’t understand. This isn’t just a case file. He's a PERSON.”

So today, for the first time, I want to share him with you.

The first photo is Joe at 15. The second was taken just a year before he died.

Seven years later, it still feels unreal that this was the ending to his story. And yet—love continues.

Please: have the hard conversations. Even the awkward ones. Asking “Do you feel like you might hurt yourself?” could open a door. Seek help. Talk to others. Remind people they are not alone.

💛 Joe mattered. Your loved ones matter. You matter.

Your body is always speaking—are you listening? 💜

In this week’s episode of The Karuna Life Podcast, I sit down with Jennifer Andrade—Certified Spinal Flow Practitioner, Reiki Master, Sound Healing Therapist, and founder of Blue Lotus – A Bridge to Wellness.

✨ Angel Number 22 ✨

The number 22 is often called the Master Builder in numerology — a number of alignment, balance, and turning dreams into reality. When you see it, Spirit may be reminding you:

🦋 You are not alone on your path.
🦋 Your intentions are supported by something greater.
🦋 What you’re building now has the power to ripple far beyond you.

For me, 22 feels like a promise — that even in seasons of challenge, there is guidance, and that the small steps we take each day can build something sacred.

It’s no coincidence that Soul Walk is on special promotion for 22 days (Aug 30–Sept 20). I felt the nudge to use the number 22… then a Reiki student shared she’s been seeing it everywhere… and the Fall Equinox this year? It lands on September 22.

✨ 22 is a sacred reminder: each of us has the choice to stay open, to trust, and to keep walking. And it matters more than we know.

💫 Reflection: Where is the number 22 showing up for you — and what might Spirit be whispering through it?

I’d love to know: are you seeing 22 — or perhaps a different angel number lately? Share in the comments!

🍑 Seasonal Energy Update — Early September (Earth Season)

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we are still in Late Summer — the Earth season. This is a short but powerful transition time, lasting from mid August until mid/late September, before we shift into Autumn (Metal).

✨ Earth Element Themes

Organs: Spleen & Stomach — our center of nourishment, digestion, and stability.

Emotions: Worry, overthinking, and anxiety can surface — inviting us to return to trust and grounded presence.

Medicine: Warm, simple foods (squash, millet, ginger, sweet potatoes), mindful chewing, belly breathing, and gentle Qi Gong movements that center and balance.

💫 Qi Gong for Earth: Movements that circle at the belly, softly “holding the ball” at the dantian (energy center below the navel), or gentle side-to-side turns to massage the stomach and spleen.

🌱 Reflection Prompt: What am I ready to digest and integrate before I step into the next season of release?
