Glen Echo Bird Club

Glen Echo Bird Club Birding Glen Echo Bird Club is a group of birders who love our ravine migrant trap. Yet we are also bird chasers who seek the thrill of the hunt!

Our designation as a "club" is in honor of the late Roger Tory Peterson, who called his first childhood group the "Bronx Bird Club."

Come and explore the hidden world of dragonflies with Deb Marsh at our Dragonfly Walk this Saturday! The weather will be perfect at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center as we discover how these beautiful creatures tick! If you have never been to the GIAC, now is your chance and this event is free and open to all ages! Details below.

Oodles of Odes

When: Saturday, July 12, 10:30 am—Noon

Where: Scioto Audubon Metro Park, meet at the entrance to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center

Description: Join Deb Marsh to discover the world of Odonata, better known as dragonflies and damselflies. We will explore various ponds on the Metro Park property. Find out about the oddly fascinating life cycle of these insects, learn to identify a few of the common ones, and hear about the exciting citizen science effort here in Ohio that is documenting Odonata observations throughout the state. Bring water, a hat, and binoculars if you have them.

Deb is a longtime birder, butterflyer, and dragonfly enthusiast—she is interested in just about anything that happens to be along the trail. One of her favorite things is to introduce others to the fascinating world of natural history.

Hello All!
We will resume our walks in Glen Echo Park this Saturday, April 12, at 8:30. We would have started last Saturday, but the weather has been uncooperative. The weather looks good for the 12th. We meet, as always, at the 4th Street entrance to the park to have the sun at our back. We will send out weekly reminders for the future walks.

Hope to see you there!
