B Well Ayurveda Health Coach

B Well Ayurveda Health Coach Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, NAMA Certified, Holistic Nurse, Health Coach, Reiki Master, Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Clinical Educator

Hello and welcome to B Well Ayurveda Health Coach with Betty Brown! I am a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, and received my Ayurvedic training from the California College of Ayurveda. I am a Registered Nurse (RN), with a BSN from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1992. As an RN, I worked primarily in Critical Care. The last 20+ years, I transitioned from working in a hospital setting to focus on my passion of health and wellness, engaging in community initiatives around preventative health measures. As I looked to further my studies in holistic and preventative health systems, I discovered Ayurveda. The holistic teachings of Ayurveda connected with my core beliefs of health, with the emphasis on nutrition, proper digestion, and living in balance with one’s mind, body and spirit. To me this is true holistic and preventative health care. Since I started studying Ayurveda in 2015, I have seen a profound change in my own personal physical, emotional and spiritual health as I have incorporated Ayurvedic self-care practices in my daily life. I experience improved physical wellness and improved digestion for maintaining my optimal weight. Ayurveda has taught me how to manage the stresses of life with greater ease and a sense of peace. Most importantly, Ayurveda offers me simple and effective empowering tools I can use in my everyday life allowing me to feel my best. I incorporate my passion for cooking through the lenses of Ayurveda, where food is considered medicine. I grew up in Korea where I have fond memories of foraging with my mother in the mountains for herbs and greens used to promote general health. Food not only satiates hunger, but supports the body’s natural abilities to detoxify, build new healthy tissues and fight off infection and diseases. I am also trained in other holistic supportive therapies such as meditation, hypnotherapy, and Reiki, which I incorporate in my Ayurvedic therapies. I am excited to share my knowledge Ayurveda with you. I know you will find a greater sense of control over your own health as I have found in my health management. It would be an honor to work with you. Welcome to your journey of health and wellness through Ayurveda!

Another reason to practice yoga-
A research study found in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found Hatha Yoga reduces and prevents chronic inlfamatory conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes.

"Yoga practices such as Pranayama, Asanas and Mudras improve insulin sensitivity, contribute to weight management, mitigate stress levels in T2D, and maintain immuno-metabolic homeostasis...Healthy Yogic diet, tailored activity patterns in the form of Asanas, relaxation, and positive attitude as well as psychosomatic harmonizing effects of pranayama can turn out as best lifestyle ever designed. Outcome from the clinical studies have already shown how Yoga practices such as pranayama, bandha, mudras, asanas, mindfulness and cleansing can improve chronic inflammatory conditions and thereby improving glycaemic index and associated metabolic perturbations"
