🌷 Spring Has Sprung—Protect Your Spine While You Plant! 🌱

Before you dive into marathon mulching, give your back the same TLC you give your roses.

šŸ’” Pro Tips:
- Use a kneeling pad or garden stool. Keep your chest lifted and hinge from the hips, not the waist.
- When lifting a heavy pot: hug the pot, bend the knees, brace your core, and pivot with your feet—not your spine.
- Repetitive one‑sided raking & pulling strains the mid‑back. So alternate sides every 10 strokes. Shorten the handle to keep elbows close.
-Don't overload your wheelbarrow which forces you into a forward lean. Make two lighter trips instead of one heroic haul.
- If you feel a twinge, stop and stretch—don’t push through the pain. A single ā€œI’ll just finish this bedā€ moment can blossom into weeks of low‑back misery.

At Alexander Chiropractic, we’re all about keeping you bending, lifting, and planting pain‑free—so your flowers are the only things popping this spring.🌼

Stop by before you head back to the yard!

Meet the Dead Bug—the strangely named exercise that’s a superhero for your spine. šŸžšŸ’ŖOnce you master this move, you won't be flailing on the floor like an upside‑down beetle, you’ll be training your core - your "Built‑In Back Brace" for injury prevention.

If you've been sitting a lot (hello desk jobs, long commutes, and binge-watching marathons), your glutes might be in a deep sleep... and we mean deep. šŸ‘šŸ§ šŸ’¤This condition—known as gluteal amnesia or Dead Butt Syndrome—happens when your glutes forget how to fire properly, leaving your hips, lower back, and hamstrings to pick up the slack (and the pain).

Our therapy team uses targeted exercises to retrain your glutes, restore balance, and get those buns back in the game.

šŸ’” So if your butt’s been hitting snooze for too long, give us a call. Let’s get those glutes fired up again.

Minor Adjustments, Major Improvements
šŸŽµ Loud music. Packed classes. Fast pace. šŸ’Ŗ

Group fitness classes can be an awesome way to stay motivated—but let’s be real: sometimes it’s hard to hear form cues, or your instructor can’t catch every rep from every angle. That’s why you knowing the basics of proper form can make all the difference.

Take this triceps extension, for example:
āŒ In the left image, elbows are flared out, shifting strain to the shoulders and reducing the effectiveness of the exercise.
āœ… In the right image, the elbows stay tucked in close to the ears, targeting the triceps and protecting the neck and shoulders.

That tiny adjustment? It protects your joints, improves muscle engagement, and reduces your risk of injury. šŸ™Œ

So next time you're in class and can't quite hear the cue—or you're flying through reps—slow down for a second and check your form. Your body will thank you.

šŸ’” Not sure if you're doing things right? Ask us—we love helping you move better.

No, you're not crazy. Even the one hour time change can mess with your body and make you feel more tired and moody because human circadian rhythms are very closely linked to the rising and setting of the sun. Jennifer Martin, a psychologist and president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine says our internal clock is not as well aligned during daylight saving time. "Light in the morning is very important," she says. "Restoring permanent, year-round standard time is the best option for our health and well-being," Martin says.
