But football didn’t seem to love him back.

And every time tryouts came around,

Still—he kept showing up.
Helping pick up cones.
Carrying water jugs.
Sweeping the locker room when everyone else had gone home.
Some kids noticed.
They called him “the janitor.”
He laughed it off, but inside—it hurt.
Then one Friday, the coach announced:
“Big surprise tomorrow. Everyone be here early.”
The next morning, the team crowded in the gym.
And when the doors opened—
Peyton Manning walked in.
The room erupted.
