🌯 This ad popped up on my Facebook feed, and I couldn’t help but pause.

Something I talk about often with clients is how our culture has redefined “healthy” to mean low-carb, high-protein, sugar-free, fat-free — basically stripped-down versions of normal food.
But here’s the truth:

👉 underfueling your body is not healthy. It may also lead to increased eating or binge eating. Our body’s NEED those nutrients.

That means a tortilla can just be a tortilla, chicken can be chicken, and ranch can be ranch. Together, they already give us balance — carbs, protein, and fat. We don’t need to manipulate food to make it “healthier.”

🥖🥑🍗 Eating the regular version not only nourishes your body, it supports your relationship with food, too.

✨ Think about one of the people you love most in the world.

Now ask yourself honestly:
Would you love them less based on the number on the scale?

Of course not ❤️ But somehow, when it comes to ourselves, that same grace and compassion gets replaced by harsh self-judgment.

We’ve been conditioned by a diet-obsessed society to believe our worth shrinks or grows with our body size. That a certain number defines how “good,” “disciplined,” or “lovable” we are.

But here’s the truth:
Your body’s relationship to gravity says nothing about your value.

If you’re always seeking validation from the scale…
If you feel like you need to keep shrinking to be “enough”…
If you’re tired of letting a number define your day…

Know this: There is so much more to you. 💛

🌱 Try this:
Start replacing body-based thoughts with truths about YOU—not a few digits on the scale:
✨ I am thoughtful.
✨ I am creative.
✨ I am resilient.
✨ I am caring.
✨ I am more than enough—just as I am.

Let’s shift the focus.❤

It’s BIPOC Mental Health Month—and it’s time we talk about who’s being left out of the conversation.

Eating disorders affect people of all races, genders, and sizes.

But BIPOC individuals face more barriers, more stigma, and more invisibility.

Let’s change that—by naming it, challenging it, and creating spaces. 🫶

✨ You don’t need another “fresh start.” You need freedom.

If you’re feeling the pull to start a new diet, cut back “just a little,” or get back in control with food…
Take a deep breath, and read this first. 👇

Here’s the truth:
You weren’t born to count calories.
You weren’t made to fear fullness.
And your worth has never depended on your weight.

Diet culture taught you to distrust your body—and call that “health.”
But real health?
🧠 Is peaceful.
🥣 Is nourishing.
🫶 Is sustainable.

You don’t need to earn your next meal.
You need to unlearn diet culture messages.

TW: weight conversation

Feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing human and talented dietitian Laura Moran 💕with to present on “Challenging Weight Stigma: A Dietitian’s Guide to Navigating Client Care in a Weight-Centric Society.”

We explored the impact of weight stigma and bias—especially on individuals in eating disorder treatment—and advocated for a weight-inclusive approach to care. 💪🏽🩺📝

It’s time we challenge the idea that weight defines health. Research shows that weight gain can be a normal and necessary part of recovery, and that suppressing one’s weight below their natural set point can lead to long-term harm.

Let’s continue to ask tough questions, uplift inclusive providers, and shift our mindset around health and healing.

A special thank you to , , and for sponsoring and holding a great event!

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Olentangy High School 📚 as a guest speaker in the health classes, where I had the opportunity to educate 184 students on nutrition and common nutrition misconceptions. As a dietitian specializing in eating disorders and disordered eating, my goal was to communicate a clear and supportive message: all foods 🥗🌮🍩 can fit into a healthy lifestyle. No food is inherently “good” or “bad,” and it is possible—and important—to develop a positive relationship with both food and our bodies.

Doing what I can to help shape and educate our future generations ❤️

PS teachers do not get enough credit for those long and enduring days 😮‍💨

Calling all dietitians, therapists, and healthcare providers! 🗣️

Are you setting goal weights and always looking to deepen your understanding? Or working in an eating disorder facility and trying to better grasp how goal weights are determined?

I’ve had the honor of training many dietitians and continually advocate for setting goal weights that truly support recovery—even when they challenge common assumptions shaped by weight stigma.

In this presentation, we’ll be sharing key insights around weight stigma and how we can approach goal weights in a more compassionate, individualized, and informed way.

Saturday I had the pleasure of presenting at Ohio State’s 10th annual Project HEAL gala 💃🏽 📚

We discussed the importance of eating disorder treatment, how food shows up for different eating disorder diagnoses, and how to adopt an “all foods fit” nutrition philosophy.

thank you for putting on such an amazing event and continuing to advocate for care and treatment for those suffering with an eating disorder 💗

Did you know that every 52 seconds, someone dies as a result of an eating disorder? 💔

I share this statistic to highlight the severity of eating disorders and their far-reaching impact. Many people don’t fully understand just how life-altering these illnesses can be.

Over the last decade, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals recover from this life-threatening, devastating illness. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people who simply want freedom from this crippling struggle. Unfortunately, there are also many who don’t recognize how deeply it’s affecting their lives—often because lack of awareness is itself a symptom of the eating disorder, which makes recovery even more challenging.

As we wrap up , I want to share 18 important facts about eating disorders. I urge you to take a moment to read through them. Awareness and education are 🔑 to breaking the stigma and ensuring that people get the treatment they need!

If you have any questions or need support, please consider me a safe space to be a guiding light to help you get the care you may need. Starting the journey can be scary, but I promise you it’ll be worth it. 🫶
