You know this feeling.
They’re clearly exhausted…
but still can’t seem to settle down.
Sometimes routines are on point. Bedtime is reasonable. Nothing obvious is off. And still, their body won’t slow down.
That’s often when it helps to look beyond behavior and consider what the body might be missing.
Magnesium comes up a lot here. It plays a role in hundreds of processes, but what most people notice is how it helps the body relax. Muscles can release tension. The nervous system can settle. That “tired but wired” feeling can ease.
When levels are low, it can show up in ways that aren’t always obvious at first. Restlessness at night. Big emotions that feel out of proportion. Trouble getting comfortable. Falling asleep but not staying asleep. Or laying there, exhausted but awake.
And it’s common. Even families who prioritize good food can still fall short. Soil quality has changed. Stress uses up nutrients faster. A lot of everyday habits don’t help.
Food is a great place to start. Leafy greens, nuts, seeds. But sometimes that isn’t enough, especially during more demanding seasons. That’s where some people add gentle support, like a topical magnesium lotion that doesn’t go through digestion.
It’s not a quick fix. It’s just giving the body more of what it already uses to calm down.
