Birth and Beyond would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Wright's Way Foundation for allowing us to be part of this year’s Annual Maternal Health Summit.

Being in a room filled with so many passionate individuals and organizations who are all committed to improving maternal health in our community was truly inspiring. The connections made, the conversations shared, and the collective desire to create meaningful change remind us why this work is so important.

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and continue building relationships with others who are dedicated to supporting families and strengthening our community.

We look forward to the continued work ahead and all the great things still to come.

This is just a few of the incredible doulas of Birth and Beyond.

Not all of us… but a beautiful glimpse of who we are.

We come from different backgrounds. Different cultures. Different faiths. Different lived experiences.

And that matters.

Representation matters. Access matters. Feeling seen and understood during one of the most vulnerable seasons of your life matters.

I will always advocate for maternal health. I will always speak loudly about Black maternal health. And I will always stand for women — all women — being supported, respected, and cared for.

Birth and Beyond was created with intention. We are building something bigger than ourselves. Something rooted in compassion, education, advocacy, and community.

And we’re just getting started.

So proud of this team. So proud of the work we’re doing. And there’s so much more to come.

We heard you.

Several people said they wanted to support Birth and Beyond but the $25 ticket price was tough right now. So we adjusted it.

Tickets are now $15 each.

If you already purchased a $25 ticket, you automatically receive TWO entries as a thank you for supporting early.

We are drawing the winner on March 1, so you still have time to enter.

Every single dollar goes directly to Birth and Beyond to continue supporting families and improving maternal health in our community.

Grab your ticket. Share with a friend. Help us keep this work going.

A 2025 study published in AJOG adds powerful, up-to-date data showing associations between doula care and improved maternal and newborn outcomes.

Key Maternal Outcomes:

More vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC): For every 100 patients who received doula care, there were 15 to 34 additional VBACs compared with those without doula care.

Higher postpartum follow-up attendance: 5 to 6 more per 100 received postpartum office visits.

Key Neonatal / Infant Outcomes

Increased exclusive breastfeeding rates: Babies whose families had doula support were more likely to breastfeed exclusively.

Fewer preterm births (and early preterm births): Doula-supported births showed a reduction in preterm birth rates.

In short, the study links doula care with improvements in birth outcomes — across birth mode (more VBACs), infant health (less prematurity), and early infant care (breastfeeding, postpartum follow-up).

Black moms and birthing people are more likely to experience perinatal mental health challenges—yet less likely to receive quality, culturally responsive care and support. That’s not okay, and that’s why RISE exists.

RISE is a direct response to these gaps in care. We provide:
🤎 Culturally matched peer support
🤎 Care navigation
🤎 Education
🤎 Advocacy
🤎 Community-centered awareness

All while centering the unique, lived experiences and individualized needs of Black moms and birthing persons.

You deserve support that truly sees you, hears you, and honors you.
