🌞 Summer Pause 🌞

I've been pretty quiet on here...

I took myself off-call, away from doula work to be fully present with the ones who hold my heart the tightest—my husband and our two sweet daughters.

Birth work is such a sacred part of my life, but right now, slow mornings, afternoons on the boat, and memory-making with my little family are calling my name.

Thank you to all the families who trust me with your most precious moments—I'll be back in the fall, refreshed and ready to support you with my whole heart.

Until then… it's barefoot days, backyard giggles, and all the summer magic motherhood has to offer.

Eleanor has tagged along with me to support mothers since 6 months of age. It started off as placenta pill deliveries and then the occasional postpartum visit or coloring during a consultation. This line of work has no set schedule, and for littles that thrive on routine, it can be hard. She's handled so many missed plans with such maturity.

This postpartum check-in wasn't planned. We were doing deliveries and I had promised a fun new park. But a family was in need, and I explained to Eleanor a momma, and new baby needed us. (It also helped the client had a swing set to offset the change in plans - phew!)
They so graciously fed her and had the heart to snap this photo, capturing the life of a "doula kid." It's heartwarming.

I've said it over and over. This work is ministry work. And my girls get to do ministry with me. Eleanor is witnessing firsthand how to be the church, outside of a building we worship in. I feel so incredibly blessed, and God sends me the most amazing families to support.
