As I reset and think carefully about what’s next, I keep coming back to a few things experience has taught me about building community through communication.

5 things I’ve learned:
People engage when they feel informed, not overwhelmed.
Trust is built through consistency, not volume.
Clear communication solves more problems than complicated processes.
Listening well is often more valuable than speaking first.
Community grows when people feel seen, not targeted.

Intown Concord knows this event will warm you up!

Concord NH Winter Fest is tomorrow, and despite the cold temperatures in the forecast, there is still a ton going on in Concord! Plus, we have eight amazing ice carvers competing this year, with the winner being announced at 3:15 PM on Saturday in front of the State House. Big shout out to Constantly Pizza and The Barley House for feeding our carvers!

We’re also excited to share that, thanks to our friends at the State House, we are now able to leave the ice carvings up until Friday, January 30 at 7:00 AM. So, if the temperature or snow keeps you away this weekend, don’t worry, you’ll still have Tuesday-Thursday next week to see them in person.

Please understand that due to the frigid forecast, some vendors and partners may not be able to attend tomorrow, but we are working with them to participate in another event later this year. Be sure to keep an eye on our website and social media for schedule updates throughout the day tomorrow. Bundle up! 🥶

Just wrapped up the NEACE webinar on The Secret Sauce to Subscriber Retention.

It was a good reminder that no matter the profession or direction we head in, treating people with respect, listening well, and continuing to learn are always foundational.

Retention, trust, and engagement don’t come from tactics alone—they come from how people are treated and how willing we are to keep learning and improving.

Grateful for thoughtful conversations and the chance to keep learning.

Grateful for the opportunity to have visited his memorial and to reflect on the lasting impact of leadership grounded in service and compassion.

One thing I’ve learned about myself over time:
I’m comfortable taking ownership, working independently when needed, and collaborating when it strengthens the result. Building trust and focusing on long-term impact matter to me.

That clarity is helping guide the direction I’m leaning into next.

Wrapped up the week doing some behind-the-scenes learning and problem-solving.

It was a good reminder of how much I enjoy rolling up my sleeves, learning something new, and jumping in where I can be helpful to the team.

Always grateful for opportunities to contribute, learn, and keep growing.
